    CS:CZ Launch Party

Jess Cliffe has informed CS-Nation that VALVe will be holding a launch party for Counter-Strike: Condition Zero tonight in San Francisco!
From 8:30 pm to 10 pm, representatives from VALVe will be at The House of Shields (located at 39 New Montgomery in San Francisco's Financial District) to celebrate the upcoming launch of Counter-Strike: Condition Zero. The event is open to everyone over 21. Final versions of the game will be available for play on PCs supplied by AMD. Please join us.
CSN was told that much deliberation went into which district would house the event. Eventually, the Financial District won out over the much lauded Lost Heart District. Speaking of lost things, the actual launch of CS:CZ has been shrouded in mystery, but don't let that fact keep anyone from celebrating!

No, you can't trust them. If you show up to the launch party, Ashton Kutcher will pop out from behind a large plant and announce to MTV viewers around the world that you have, indeed, been punked.

I can't make it to the event, even then I'm underage (20.943 < 21.0). I feel so young.

          That said, I wasn't invited anyway :)

Some C-S Fanatic is gonna come up with an X-box emulator for PC long before VALVe ever releases CZ to the public!

so, uh, this launch party means cz is ready to roll? like... this month, and not 3-4 months down the road?

i mean, it's valve here. they announced hl2 3 months before release, and still couldn't meet that date. (no, the hacking didn't help, but it wasn't the only reason it couldn't make the 30th)

anyways, here's hoping we get cz soon. perhaps the new maps will be entertaining enough to get rid of the aztec/dust2/inferno cycle (no offense to davej + narby, but they're overplayed.)

I do believe the proper term is "punk'd".

Well that's brave of them, having a launch party about 2 months before the game is due out. The people that matter most to Sierra (ie the shops) are ALL giving a date of February next year for the release, so to say that this is a little premature is an understatement in the extreme.
