Comments are almost always allowed. It's up to the sponsor, though.

Maybe because there have been quite a few instances in the past where people came in and tried to use the comments to bash the sponsor and pimp their own server company. It usually then turns into a flame war, lots of comments get deleted, people get temp bans handed to them, and in general it's often just a pointless mess.

seriously... there should be an option to turn off sponsored news... especially since many people aren't even in the market for this type of thing.

Stooopid, sometimes sponsored news can benefit you. What if you were looking for something to buy, such as a server or gaming league. If CSnation did not provide these links to you, half of the leagues out there wouldn't be known of. Again, not "talking smack" just pointing out a possible "arguement point". Without the arguement ofcourse :).

With respect, I think many other CSN readers have administrative functions in their work/home. My office has a full-time administrator who dedicates a great deal of his time to setting up CS and BF1942 stuff for our group (keeping us up-to-date). If we need servers we can setup on as many 20 different machines, all with superior connections. No big deal, just that it would be nice to turn off vendor news. Afterall I can't turn off the advertisements everywhere else on the site...

Yes, and it would be nice to pay team members with money that grows off of trees, but the world doesn't function that way.

Heck, it would be nice to get paid with revenue from sponsors, too, but "the world doesn't function that way."
