New ForceWare Drivers Released

This kind of news doesn't need to be posted here, this is what sites like Guru3d are for. Maybe i'm wrong but this is CS site and i don't see any CS specific fixes in this driver. Anyone else have a different opinion?

I think it matters, it's related to hardware which isn't a problem to be in a news post @ csnation

This isn't a hardware site though. If these drivers had some specific CS fix it would be fine, but Nvidia drivers get leaked every week, why is this release special enough to make it to CS-Nation? If you're going to start posting Nvidia releases, might as well post them all which would flood the front page the way Nvidia leaks drivers.

isn't the "XT" part of ati's graphic card line up i thought nVidia had "Ultra"

You could just not complain as this may help a lot of people out. Myself being one of them. I just recently (today, to be exact) got a GeForce FX video card and CSN is the first site I check. So I'm glad this was posted.

nvidia drivers lead into hardware, then leads into tweaking WHICH IS related to CS

Tell that to the CS players who are getting a 5900 XT card.

Isn't it kind of funny how the nVIDIA site is not compatible with Mozilla/Netscape, and only with IE?

I use Mozilla Firebird, and although most of the site works fine, to acutally download drivers I have to use IE.

I find that mildly amusing, as not only would you expect a big-name company like nVIDIA to take the time to find decent web-design-artists that know to make a site compatible with multiple types of browsers, but it they even offer Linux drivers... I wonder if any of the Linux browsers (Konquerer or w/e) can actually dl the drivers...

Funny, I use MyIE2 with the Mozilla skin. Works wonderfully. Doesn't use as much RAM either.

Ah, the ever mysterious 5900 XT :)

You either mean the 5900 Ultra, or 5950 Ultra. NVidia doesnt have an XT line.

Don't whine about driver updates listed on the site. If you dont care, dont click the link and waste your time posting comments on it.

Edit // Apparently Nvidia DOES have an XT line. I was unaware they had one. It looks like it's like the SE model from ATI; the Shitty Edition.

Works fine with opera as well. Only a few sites I have come across that I have had issues with. Usually a problem with Java though.

what's a 59oo xt? aparently there is one, but i never heard of it.

anyways there is no "595o ultra," but only a 5950 because 5900 ultra is basically the 595o's non ulra form.

5950 ultra = 595o

59oo ultra = 595o non ultra
