It's the Steam update.



Anyway, great changes, particularly with DoD. It's very annoying to see those 90 degree bugs. There are still some bugs too, like the formatting error when you read the Update News in the game properties that clears up when you press something.

d3d is better than opengl right? I never been able to use it.

OpenGL has always had better image quality than D3D, for Half-Life. Just look at how sharp the crosshairs are under each mode, for the obvious proof.

Even on servers that don't ban the shield, I don't see people using it all that often, and I've never seen any glitchers, since like a couple patches ago.



And they fixed that reload one, that was the one I wanted them to fix the most.

i just tried d3d for the first time

went from 25-30 frames (opengl) to 15 max

probably cause i dont have a gfx card :|

LOL! you should get a 9700 pro. they are pretty cheap now and they perform pretty well against nvidia's latest cards ;]

Seems like scoreboard bug not fixed yet. It was at first, scoreboard not appearing while demo playback. And nowadays it is, hl.exe crashes when scoreboard appears in demos.

Hahahahah! I just looked up on two different sites and they have revised the release date for CZ AGAIN! Amazon states 12/30/2003 which now places it after X-Mas and EB Games puts it March of 2004!!! I am blown away. I hope they do release it at the same time that Battlefield Vietnam and Doom 3 come out. That would be rich. I would have put Half-Life 2 in that mix as well but we all know that HL2 is at least a year off. They really should get started on that one.
