I also played the leak ver. The graphics are really good for an old engine. What i like best are the hand models on the weapons. They actually look real instead of the weird 1 part hand and one part thumb models.

I think the (obvious) idea of the outdated graphics comments is that, at this point in time, there is no point in releasing a "new" game based on an old engine. Technology has moved on, and companies that ignore/reject these leaps in technology end up producing games that have mediocre user responses, typically.



Yes, we all still love CS, but at the same time there's that sense that new things should indeed be new, instead of yet another attempt to milk the same old cash cow one more time. In the end, it will come down to whether CS:CZ has enough appeal in other areas to make us overlook the dated graphics. From the sound of this review, the die-hard CS lovers will lick it up and smile like everything else related to the game, where as the casual CS player may find his dollars worth investing elsewhere.



Either way, I'm reserving my final judgement until the game is actually sitting on store shelves and I get to hear a lot of opinions from a lot of people that I know in this community.

It seem's to defy the point of the reasons behind the developer shifts when this new improved version get's a worse review than the previous version did.

From the reviews and screenshots I've seen, CZ doesn't seem to be shaping up rather nicely.



However, I'll still have to wait till it's officially out to see the responses. There's a high chance that PC Gamer is accurate though.

thats not the main point of any review of a game. A review is to tell you about whats good and whats bad, and if the reviewers thing you and joe public will like it.

jax0r its the fatpad. Its just a glorified cloth mat, nothing great about it. I recommend an icemat, ive been using a func 1030 for well over a year, and found the icemat to be much much better :)

As for cz, ill still buy it, if just for the intreaguing suspense of having something delayed this long. I can live with the dated visuals, and according to PCG thats just the major problem with it, therefore id say it should be fine. A refreshing change from normal cs anyway.

Funny that you mentioned it, I just ordered the new 44% bigger black Icemat. I didn't think he was looking to spend $60+ on a glass mouse surface from Denmark tho, so I just recommended the DKT I was useing, as it worked well for me. Then my cat clawed it up. Lets see her do that to glass. Bitch.

Truely it has got to the point of fascination to me, to see the final CZ. Looking back, it's unbelieveable that Valve were unable to cash in on what must (and still is to some degree) be the most bankable game title in present times. Year after year have rolled by to the point that each delay just prolongs the mystery.

too little content, too late. why bother? it's just a lame attempt to milk the CS cash cow, and Valve can't even do that right and get it out before Christmas. buy a CS mouse pad instead. it's a better value.

If you have been paying attention to the interviews and news posts, the game is complete and is now in the hands of Sierra. They must now make retail copies of the game to ship to stores. The question is, what's keeping them from releasing it? They sure missed the perfect time of the year to release the game.
