When you talk about clan matches though you can see how it gets heated. I bet everyone at one point or other who has been playing online has wished to be able to get an address off of someone who has been cheating yada yada yada.



Was going to go ona bout the liberal gun laws (In relation to the uk of course) in the states but seeing as gun crime is on the increase over here ............



Just highlights though how imbalanced some people can be. Hope the scum bag who held the gun to the person head gets slammed away for a good while.

This shows just how people views on issues differ (Probably the stupidest thing I have every said) because when I see someone cheating all I do is think "Wow how lame...they have to resort to cheating" and I personally would never think of beating someone up just because of that.

Even people who arn't Gangsters or even live in a Ghetto listen to rap. I admit that maybe we may get violent when we lose it. But it's because the world tells us taht we are dirty, poor and criminals. It's hard to not become somethnig you are told. I can assure you that America is a country with many crimes. On the other hand, we also have many people living here, some of which are greedy, selfish, impatient and ignorant fools. That doesn't mean that we should ban guns. That doesn't mean that we should ban a game. It only means that the reason we have crime is because people do not use the necessary logic to deal with their problems in the most efficient, and legal manner possible. This country does not have nearly as high of a shooting rate as a place such as Iraq (I know that one is a little skewed,) but at least we make an effort to get rid of the terrorists and other people who are free to live in places such as Somalia, and other eastern nations. I am pretty sure that as far as gun accidents and murders are concerned, we are not the best, but we are probably in the top 15 countries of having it under control.

Im sorry Lag but you are an idiot if you think rap is to blame for this event. This kid was just a tempermental punk who needed to grow up and give in to taking anger management classes. What was he doing with a gun? I dont know, but you can't just up and blame rap for this. You are stereotyping all the rappers out there. Have you listened to every single rapper out there? Or just your basic Ja Rule, Fifty Cent, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Dr. Dre? Believe it or not there are actually really good rappers out there who rap about more important things than "Guns, Ho's and Being Pimps" You ever heard of Talib Kweli and his song "Joy" where he raps about the joy of being a father? Have you heard Danger Mouse and Jemini's "Here We Go Again" as he raps about the mistakes of our past? You have Immortal Technique's raps about "Dancing with the Devil" or "Till It's to Late", have you heard the Roots' "Love of My Life"? If not then I suggest you shut the hell up and stop being a dick head for once. I could just as easily say the same thing about rock, but I wont because there are actually good Rocker's out there even though I generally dislike most of it.

I couldnt help but post just to put some things out there.



Games of all sorts have been causing violent reactions for a long time.



Soccer or Football (as it's know in some countries) have far out succeeded in terms of violent players, and fans. Dozens of stabbings, gang fights, deaths from mobs rushing the fields...the list goes on and on...so before you accuse America of being to serious about it's games look at the other countries that are devoted to soccer..Mexico, most of South America, most of the European Nations, all of them have had the same problems.



The problem lies with people being detatched from reality and taking things too seriously. I have noticed that those that usually blame games for violence are people that do not play the games themselves. It is easy to look at a problem from the outside and make a rash judgement about why or how it might be fixed. This is what many of those that don't live in the States do. Please come live here then make comments about how to fix it. You are just as detatched from reality as those that get violent over games.



As for the "REAL" problem at hand, it is a matter of security. Or lack there of. I do not know how many people were at this event, but I'm guessing 1000 or so if it was a big awards event. How many people were really working security? If one of the magazine reps and anothers son were out there breaking up a group fight, I'm guessing that there was no security.



As noted from the soccer example, there are idiots everywhere, not just the states, but the stupidest thing I can conclude, is that those people that threw the event, didnt take into consideration the fact that in all games, there are sore loosers and to be prepared for a less than professional response from those people loosing.

There's a difference between saying that the person involved listened to rap music, and saying that rap music was responsible for the event.



In other words, $10 says that the person responsible also plays video games, hangs out with friends late at night, had a soda in the past week, slept for less than 5 hours some night in the past week, and has made threats against others in the past.



However, most of us have probably done most, if not all of those things in the past week, but would never go out and pull a gun on someone. There's a difference between corelation and causation, and the simple fact that someone has a given trait means absolutely nothing about what caused their actions.
