why doi woman always have too be sexists always trying too exclude men because they cant compete so they have too create an all girl blah blah blah let men play and see what u can do

and shadow The FUCKING funny thing is, I don't want gaming to become a mainstream sport, because it isn't. Gaming and sports doesn't sound like a good combination to me, and a lot of people will back me up on this. Deep down, you all know gaming is NOT a sport. It's simply for fun, and getting too serious is definitely a problem. It shouldn't be a sport anyway, not like anyone looks up to fatal1ty. Whatever happened to the simple days? Technology is evolving for the worse, in some areas of society, in my honest opinion.

are u a retard are you saying football isnt a game? and baseball isnt a game?

cs is a game also, where competition rules and thrives that is what makes it a sport and the fact that they get money for it shows the confidence in the skill aspect of it

cs isn't a sport, it involves no physical activity period.

I'm not against gaming leagues, big tournaments or online play, but the fact is, this just isn't a sport, it's a video game.

and for all of you who still have the guts to say "cs is a sport", well lets try this simple 2 step program to see if it really is.

step 1- go to a large agglomeration of people, mainly athletes in various different sporting categories (football, hockey, basketball etc) and shout out loudly "I am a top athlete just like you guys, i play a video game called counterstrike and I'm a pro"

step 2- collect various insults, laughs and bizarre looks and go back home.

Sport comes from sporting event which is a competition so CS is then a sport. By the way I want to enter this contest, it would be discrimination is they didn't let me in Seriously though if they had a all male cs event i'm sure someone would get pissed, but we are guys and don't really care much.

          RULES:

          No esports trolling.

In case you can't use your freaking minds, that means that any topic in the "esports" category is NOT the place for people to make "CS isn't a sport blah blah blah r0x0r!!!111" comments.

If you don't like esports, go somewhere else. Otherwise, it's a bannable offense around here. Class dismissed.

if we have women-only events now, where are the men-only events? hmm...? kinda discriminating against the guys i think. instead of having a single sex tournament, why not have single sex teams instead, like in tennis for example, men, women, or mixed.

This is just like how the world thinks all computer gamers are nerds with glasses and pimples and fat.

As for you people screaming SEXIST! Grow up. The world has not had even women rights untill the last generations. We men ahve had ton's of things for Men only. I think that they have the right to do this.
Yea yea, but last time i checked i wasnt alive during past generations. Im not responsible for other peoples grievances. Female only sounds a bit harsh, but remember, male only is redundant. So its pointless to argue. Let them do it if they want.

/sexism But i dont trust anything that bleeds for 5 days and doesnt die.

              / end

              (not gay) :o

What IS with all this sexist stuff? Chances are half of you screaming "WOMEN ONLY?!?!? WHERE IS THE MEN TOURNAMENT?!?!?!" would get owned by the female players. I ran across a female only clan in Counter-Strike and they were really, really good. The only reason they didn't go into Cal or any other league is because most of the male players in CS do nothing but go "Hey baby how old are you? Where do you live? Are you single? Want me to 'shoot you' with my 'gun' baby?" on voice. This is their chance to get around all of that, so cut them some slack.

It seems to me that some people on CS are still morons who are still Sexist.

If you don't want gaming to be as popular as sports then that's fine. As we all knoew, sports was created for fun. And some people like me find playing competive even more fun. It's not a serious problem to have fun. Just as long as you paly with good sportsmanship and a good attitude. Playing competive doesn't make you a nerd. It jsut means your competive.

Playing games as a only activity and not learning how to get along with the world is a problem. And it's a big one, becuase half the people on the net act like dickheads because they arn't saying it in real life.

I'd like to see the female winners of Cyber X Gaming challenge Team 3D. Girls owning boys online =), just like in real life.

Makes you wonder... both males and females are allowed in the "normal" leagues, so why the need for a female-only one?

It's the same way with all professional sports, and if I were a women I'd probably be offended that there had to be a league made exclusively for women. But since I'm not, I just think its stupid. Going by this logic, there would have to be a male-only league as well.

People are so concerned about equality, but they feel the need to segregate men and women like this.

*sigh* Hypocrisies and double standards, wee!

Because ladies suck at video games, which is good because they need to spend their time pleasing me.

Also.....I was going to make a comment on how much of a suck up ``ma_cherie" is but everything I thought of was harsher than I wanted to be, so this will suffice. rish loves it though, wait, he might actually have a girlfriend now that he isn't fat and 17.

Why not the invisible ones? You know, the good thing about invisible girlfriends is they couldn't possibly know about each other when you have more than one. Saves you a lot of trouble...

Honestly, I believe "equality" is a bunch of crap.

Let's face it, despite decades of trying to blindly pretend otherwise, men and women simply are not the same. That's not a distinction of the quality of the person. That's a realization that physically, mentally, and emotionally men and women differ. This is a good thing. The world would be considerably less enjoyable if it were not so, as we tend to be attracted to those differences in others.

When it comes to gaming, it's the same story. Sure, the typical male physical prowess over that of girls (on average, not in every case) doesn't enter into the equation when you're talking about online activities. However, you've got two major factors affecting the demographics of league play:

                            1) Far, far less girls play FPS games than guys, and

                            2) Guys (on average again) tend to have better 3D spacial/geometric abilities, as well as an ability to focus more intensely on one thing than girls can typically.

This isn't a matter of being "sexist" or whatever. It's simply how we differ. I can easily pull out ten different competitions in which the tables would be turned, and women's natural abilities will play more in the favor of them winning, as well as more women in general being interested in the medium.

I'm going to exaggerate the situation in order to illustrate the point. Image a community focused around online Scrabble competitions. If you have Scrabble-Nation, considering the nature of the game you might get a primarily female player base. Now imagine that for the past few years, only a handful of guys have shown up at these competitions, and never done well in comparison to the women at the event. It would be quite plausible for there to later be a men's event for competitive Scrabble, simply to encourage their participation, and to put them on a playing field that they're more able to compete on.

I've played with a female gamer who I considered my equal at Counter-Strike before, which has been a rare enough event. Most of the online "girls" are guys masquerading as girls, as any admission or claim of being a female results in (like has already been said) tons of idiotic CS players (you guys) attempting some sort of online flirting, if you can call it that.

And since you're all wondering, no, she wasn't even remotely unattractive. Those Japanese girls... what can I say? :) Cool girl though, until some of the other guys would go too far with their immature comments. Really, though, people like her are the exception, not the rule. She got into CS via her boyfriend, but most girls (at least, the ones I've met) tend to look down on video games, and view them as a passing phase in a guy's life.

Simply put, women don't tend to compete in the numbers or at the level of the very top male gamers. That's not to say that a talented female team couldn't kick any of our butts at CS. However, when it comes down to it, some team like SK is still going to dominate them. That means that this separate event is not only a good idea, it's absolutely critical if competitive gaming tournaments are to be anything other than an event in which very, very few girls can participate with any level of success.

As far as the claims of "why isn't there a men's league" and such, well, at this point generally speaking most professional leagues might as well be men only, because really there tend to be hardly any females around in the first place. Competing with females isn't a problem for top male gamers, but competing with guys definitely can be a problem for many female gamers.

So yeah, guys. Grow up, stop doing your pathetic "I'm the victim" rants about how it's "not fair" or "sexist" and accept the reality of the situation. Tournaments like this are really cool for those girls who have had to put up with the idiot guys in the community for so long. Sorry to bash on you all in general, as I know there's a lot of really cool and sensitive guys among us, but by and large I think we all realize how most in the community react to girls in CS.

Gaming should be considered an aspect of sporting since it uses hand/eye coordination, intelligence and reflex, which is one of the most important aspect of sports. It is your opinion but you could try not to make sound so much like concrete fact. use Nike slogan, "Just do it"
