Child's Play Charity

A new charity event has been started at Penny Arcade which is a little different from most others. The aims of this one is to supply needy kids with any kind of games or such from a wish list on Amazon. Penny Arcade is working with the Seattle Children's Hospital to deliver these gifts to the underprivileged youths.

All the toys and games will be delivered to us and we will in turn deliver them to the Children's Hospital. As soon as the toys start arriving I'll set up a web site and post as many pictures as I can. We will be making a trip over to one of the hospitals next week and we'll bring you back stories from some of the kids along with more pictures.

If you want to give the kids a better Christmas to look forward to while changing the attitude of the media toward gamers, go contribute to this organization.

This is a great plan, i hope that they get tons of toys. I can't wait to see the pictures of all the kids getting their presents and looking so happy, the stories should be great too. I like in Seattle btw.

Little Bobby Garcia isn't expected to make it to Christmas, but thanks to Penny Arcade, a group of dedicated gamers, and the copy of GTA3 they bought him, little Bobby is going to be making sure that hundreds of virtual children don't live to see Christmas. Gabe at Penny Arcade was seen giving tips on how to beat down old ladies. "It's great to see a child's face light up to the muzzle flash of their trusty submachine gun," Gabe reported. "It's things like watching Bobby steal his first double-decker bus that makes all of this effort worth it."

Or something along those lines. :) But yeah, nice idea.

Nice. I remember my first bicycle falling victim to some charity event organized by our local kindergarten when I was around 8... I was really mad at my parents until about 2 weeks later - it was christmas and to my very surprise and enlightment, good ol' santa had deposed a new bike for me under the tree. ah. bittersweet childhood memories.
