Ok, to clear up the legend of Oedipus

(pronounced: Ed - Ih - puhss, and it also CAN be spelled with out the "O"):



Ok, so Laius and Jocasta (king and queen) have this kid, and then the go to see this oracle. The oracle says that the son (not yet names Oedipus, he has a different name) will grow up to kill his father and marry his mother. So they have him nailed to a rock on a mountain side, and then this couple (who can't have children) find him, and name him Oedipus. When he is grown up, on some random 2 or 3 year bloodlust, killing 1492 polish midgets with no more than 3 pebbles and a tubesock, ok, i made that part up, he encounters his real parents, and in a fight he kills his real dad (he still thinks that his 'adoptive' parents are his real parents), fulfilling half of the oracles prediction. and then he marries his real mom, and makes a few babies with her. And then he discovers what happens, rips out his eyes, and banishes himself.



And now you know.
