CSX Review

John Callaham, aka JCal, of HomeLan has done a short review on the newly-released CSX.

There is support for both system link and Xbox Live multiplayer in CS Xbox and thanks to the console's relatively closed server environment there will likely not be nearly as much cheating as there is on the PC version (although we are sure cheaters and hackers will try their best to do so). The automatic support for voice chat in Xbox Live is also there for CS which should please hardcore CS players who want to chat with their teammates instead of typing in chat words.

CSX Review

DigitialBackSpin.com has written a small, concise, and to the point review on Counter-Strike for the Xbox. It simply covers what most expects, and does a great job doing so. Here, have a sampler:

Although Xbox Live is pretty much a must for this game, the single player is worth mentioning. Here, you and up to eleven bots wage the war on terror. You can even do the Splinter Cell thing and have up to eight bots on the opposite team and take them on solo. You can select how much money you start out with, you can select how much shopping time you get before and after the match begins. You can even select weapons the bots can have and also how they act.

Although this particular review seems to be on the vibe of most other reviews on CSX, this should catch the interest of ones with those lovable giantic big black boxes of wholesome fragging goodness with a mean nasty green emblem in the center, who are still debating whether to purchase CSX. Should that apply to you, then get clicking away for the review.

Xbox Live is a closed service. The only way you can cheat is those damn explorer cards and theyre being outlawed by Microsoft.

I know little about XBoxes, but I know people have been able to turn them into fully functional PCs.



I wouldn't completely rule out the possibility of cheats.

I would assume a dedicated individual could setup a computer to intercept packets sent to and from the server, and use this information to create a program that could act the same way as a normally bot without needing to modify the actual xbox. Think of how people use to play halo online except the instead of just passing packets it modifies.

Modded Xbox cant go online, Im not sure how hackers are baring these days but people I know with modded Xboxs wouldnt go near live with a hacked Xbox.

Without the training mode from 1.5, 1.6 sucks royaly. You think I'm joking!?
