Except for the poor SOB's that thought they were on the lowest level of the league only to be schmucked by an organized team made up of players from known top level teams.

Here's a post that's gonna get flamed but here it goes anyways. All these guys did was make a new clan and start over under different names. When you are playing online you don't know who the person is anyways and it's not like they played instead of someone else. They might as well have just started a new clan would've been the same thing except they would have had followers from the start. What they did was just start over with a clean slate. Maybe in real life it would be fraud or whatever, but we're talking about an online computer game! It's funny how they did it for 38 weeks without getting caught by CAL too. Personally, I think that CAL shouldn't have banned them but I can see where it comes from. These guys made fools of CAL so of course CAL had a rep to protect. One more thing, immature clans like Vio who are just sore losers didn't do the community "good" by uncovering this, they just knocked out a good clan. Good luck to all former uX members!

Fallacy11, there are the certain set of rules in CAL for a reason. They knowingly broke those rules, and were finally caught. Can you honestly say they didn't deserve to get caught? Almost all of them were multiclanning. That's like getting two chances to prove yourself, instead of a normal clan who only has one.

And to say that they made a fool of CAL, that's just silly. It's really not that hard to have multiple identities on the internet.

Let's see what it would most likely take to double clan and not get caught...

            2 or more cd keys

            a router

hmm, that doesn't seem like a whole lot to me. CAL can't do much of anything about it either, simply because it is the internet.

uX got caught because of their own stupid mistakes, and the very first one was making the clan in the first place. then again, if they really didnt care like they said they did, i guess all's well and they can have fun with their suspensions, until they get caught evading again.

i think the only sad part is the person who didnt know about the double clanning that was going on and he gets suspended too. oh well, shit happens.

and what's with vio being immature? if i got cheated in a playoff match then i sure as hell would do everything possible to fix it.

VIPER: no one said they were banned BECAUSE of hacking, i just brought up the subject simply because at least 3 of them are

The point is, Spartibus, at this time it's your word against theirs. We have absolutely no reason to believe you over them, so your accusations are absolutely meaningless to everyone else here. Hard, solid proof would change that, but chances are you simply don't have it. Even if you had seen evidence, if you can't reproduce it for the world, then it honestly means nothing to anyone but yourself.

I quit the whole clan scene because of regulations like that one, along with frustrations in dealing with non-dedicated players.

Similarly, I disagree with the current implementation of the prison system, because I think it really destroys options for people, and makes it nearly impossible for them to ever start fresh.
and what's with vio being immature? if i got cheated in a playoff match then i sure as hell would do everything possible to fix it.
That's not being "cheated" in a playoff match. That's simply getting owned by a team of guys who love the game, but couldn't compete due to CAL's restrictions. There is a definite distinction between cheating in a game, and disobeying those league regulations which prevent you from competing. In this case, it appears to be a situation where Vio was the inferior team, and because of that fact, they had to use the CAL (rather than their own playing skill) to remove the barrier between them and advancement.

I'm not saying that I think lying and disobeying regulations are honorable things, and uneXpected did more than their share of both. I'm simply saying that it is entirely understandable why these guys got together and made a fantastic run of it. Make your restrictions too harsh, and people will always rebel. That's my take on the situation, anyway.

First off I agree with Nighthawk and a lot of what he said. But I would also like to add that Vio who got to play in uX's spot forfeited their match! Now, they got a good clan kicked out of CAL, and they didn't even show for their match. That's definetly a move worth praising.

                        its pretty simple folks...

uX was banned from CAL for doing thing they weren't supposed to do, it doesn't matter what it was. Also it may be just a computer game, but some of us take it seriously and treat it like a sport, an e-sport. this situation would be comparable to a pro baseball team changing their name and playing against a little league. it just isn't right and its not fair sooooo.... they are punished, end of story.

oh btw, please ignore the address, its just a clan site...

Nighthawk, how can you say vio wasnt cheated in that game? Breaking the rules of any game is cheating, therefore that's the only term that should be used.

uX got carried by 3 people, all the rest were horrible, and so were the first clans they were in (pD, TAG, etc). what's so right about them getting to go to playoffs even though their original clan just blew? nothing, really. it'd be like my clan essence making 10 different clans of the same people, just so we have 10x more chance of getting into playoffs. pretty gay if you ask me

also, you're right, it's my word against anyone elses on the "hacking" matter, but the fact that i brought it up made you at least think it was possible, no matter how wrong you think it is. if i cared that much about it i'd give proof, but really, i dont feel like snitching out one of my friends. uX is already banned from CAL anyways, and counter-strike will be dead in 6 months (league play will, at least, due to the fact of cs2)

In my opinion, league rules in this case do not qualify as rules of the game, especially when those rules are not in regard to how the game is played, but simply who can play.

With that in mind, there's no way I could consider this cheating. I realize you do, and I'm not going to try to convince you otherwise (it'd likely be pointless), but likewise realize that many others will continue to believe that this was not a matter of cheating.

Also, I don't see forming multiple clans as increasing your odds of winning, really. If Counter-Srike matches were decided by the roll of the dice, then yes, multiple tries increase your odds.

However, CS is largely a game of skill. If your skill is inferior, it doesn't matter how many times you try -- you're still going to get beat by the superior team. With that in mind, all that rules against multi-clanning accomplish is saving time by not having a team prove multiple times that they're better than members of another team.

-:Nighthawk:-, you really have no clue do you? If it's upto you people are allowed to join leagues in as many teams as they like?

If I was playing in a lower league and got my ass kicked by a team that used high league clanwhores (that's what you are playing for multiple clans) I would feel cheated aswell.. Is it really that hard to understand this?? I bet you've never played any sport on a descent level in real life if you don't..

And since you say it's ok, what happens when 2 teams have to play eachother that use the same players?? You see it's just a very stupid idea to allow being in multiple clans in the same league.. To make your idea more laughable, I could play all 5 from SK in my team and it would be ok by your standards because we are not cheating, we simply have more skill.. LOL!!

these rules largely depend on how the game is played. lets look here...

if you are in multiple clans in the same league, then that definitely highers your chance of getting into playoffs and so forth. how?

                                1. playing on two different clans, you have two different matches. everyone knows that there are some horrible teams in every league that probably shouldnt be there. so though while it requires skill to win, chances are youll end up playing one of these bad teams

                                2. forfeit wins

                                3. having a chance to play one of the clans you're double clanning... making up a score

just cause you lose one match doesnt mean you have less skill then the other clan, there are many reasons that you could have lost a match, therefore being in two clans will possibly enable you to play them again which can give you a chance to win when you shouldnt have one.
