Although you use patch to describe what they do, think of them as tweaks instead. You need to remember that "tweaking" Steam involves having to update each client pc. Go check the numbers of the amount of downloads Steam has had. Do the maths. Chill and be patient. Rome wasn't built in a day. =)
Steam is the only game I have running all the time on my pc. And not too long ago you had nothing like Steam to hand. How big is your Friends list? Mine is PHat with a capitla PH of people who normally I would only get the chance to meet "in-game". Now I get to keep in touch with people who by chance I have bumped into after not seeing them since say 1.3 where they went on to other things ..... back now though.
Valve I salute you!
Oh and Ticket problem peeps. Go to settings and log out manually. Log back in and all should be OK!

there's another way:
go to ur Steam folder and look for a file named : ClientRegistry.blob
delete it and restart ur steam.
ur steam will now DL the patch again.
after that start steam and key in your account password
you can play CS now!
woot!
if you doubt this method, just make a copy of your ClientRegistry.blob fileComment
