I dun realli care about the half-life 2 leak... its just that if it delays over and over again... people will treat it lyke cz... lyke after a few months of delay.... all the hype died and now no one cares if it comes out on Nov.18

Ok, "free" software (I presume you are speaking of Open Source software) isn't coded by a bunch of spotty stereotypical geeks. Get back to us when you have a clue.

I think its stupid delaying the game till april, most of the gamers will lose faith and buy other titles such as max payne 2. If they brought out the game as soon as the code got leaked people would hav bought it straight away, now everyone has to wait till april they will want to get a pirate version instead.

Okay, I admit most are not stereotypical geeks, but the ones I am referring to are the kids in their 20s who think all software should be free. Stupid people wrapped up in idealistic dreams.

Watch the movie "Antitrust". That big corporation represents Microsoft and is portrayed as evil, and the underlying source of that is because the writers were mad that Microsoft makes a ton of $$$. The freeware programmers were made out to be martyrs dieing for a righteous cause, and in the end make the big corporations code open source and everybody live happily ever after.

The kind of people who made that movie are the people I am referring to.



Ironically for them the only way to have universal compatibility between computers (that the average user will be able to use, of course) is for everybody to use the same operating system, and the development of would/did cost millions in distribution alone. =D



Of course that is all my opinion, but I am sure many other people agree with me when I say when people wan't to charge for software that they make it should not be stolen and distributed for free.



And that picture of a faucet with the caption "Half-Life 2 Leak" is stupid.

Of course we could just become communists and get stamps or something to trade in for a video game every year or so.

The software would be free, and the capitalistic pigs will be crushed for trying to have a private company and forcing people to trade money for goods and services.

Whoever submitted the thing abut Vivendi going bankrupt is a moron. They are one of the leading video game producers in the world. Copies of all their other games are STILL selling. Stores are still running out of copies of Starcraft and Diablo on their shelves. Same with Half-Life. a delay of HL2 is not gunna make them go bankrupt

Half-Life still remains the game that changed everything to me. Imitated but never duplicated in that the story-line matched awesome game play. I pre-ordered HL2 May this year and even if it's May 04 I will be happy and thankful for Valve's dedication to perfection. I definitely believe HL2 is worth the wait for whatever needs to be done to correct the damage from the leak.
