Realbot V1.0

As DchozN predicted the other day, Realbot has now officially reached Version 1.0. This Artificially Intelligent opponent for Counter-Strike can be used both on and offline. The readme for the release can be found here, but the big deal is that this bot is Steam/1.6 compatible!

Interesting. I installed it and followed the instructions to the letter (I used the .zip) and now hl.exe will crash whenever I try to start a new game.

Ive played Akimbot on steam already, it was good. But I didnt know how many bots sucked compared to PODBots. In my opinion, PODBots are the best bots ever (besides the ones we tested in Steam for awhile). Come on Count Floyd, make it 1.6 compatible. Or someone, take the source he made public and make it 1.6 compatible PLZ :-)

Yes, I used the .exe and pointed it to programfiles/steam/steamapps/email/counter-strike/ and it created a realbot folder.



Whenever it goes in game now, after starting a new one, it crashes. just plain freezes, gotta ctrl alt del to terminate it.



I've haerd they are really good though, i wish they would work. one guy i talked to said try installing it just to /email/counter-strike and not /realbot/.

PODbot is good, but is nothing compared to a correctly configured REALbot. PODbot is hard to kill, but doesn't play as realisticly which is what REALbot is focusing on.

I was testing RealBot a bit, i was really hoping that i would like it, but it sux most of the time. Sometimes it's even funny to look at them getting stuck on simple obstacle or on each other. PODbots and 1.6beta bots were the best.

Oh, and i forgot to add, it's eating to many FPS.

this bot is like a newborn baby, its eyes are closed at first but you gotta let itget accustomed to the map kinda like mike just said

Saying about realbot getting stuck and what not reminded me of podbot.



I remember many a time them getting stuck in stupid places.

One time on 747 he tried crouch climbing the ladder in the luggage hold without shooting out the ceiling panel and it just sat there with its knife out for a whole round.

These bots still aren't smart enough to defuse consistently. In fact, they don't defuse at all in this version!
