    Keeping It Regular

Seeing as it's a slow news day, here's a LAN update:

LANLegends is hosting their third event on November 8th in Westerly, RI. Counter-Strike is included in the festivities so if you're in the area just pay your $25 entry fee and go go go!

I felt the need to make up for the loss of that skins site post. Plus, I usurped DchozN's newsbits posting and got a Bon Jovi reference into the news!

    Life is good.

I read the editorial, which was ok, nothing startling (hey, it's an editorial), then found myself hating every one of the assholes who replied in the thread.

Who are these fuckwits who have spent all their time examining this leaked code, with total abandon, and then sit back with pure arrogance and tell the editor he doesn't know what he's talking about because they've spent x hours proving valve are full of shit?

Maybe I'm just in the midst of male menstruation here, but I'd gladly pour acid on everyone of the mother fuckers and watch them burn.

Andy is fooling himself and so are you if you think valve and these "half-life radio experts" are correct in saying there was only a partial leak. The source code is quite complete, it doesn't take an expert to "spend all their time examining" it to tell that. What is NOT complete are resources such as models, maps, textures, etc. The game is in no way playable as far as a storyline goes. But many of the maps ARE playable. Whether or not what was stolen was a "current" release we will never know. And Andy and that morphal guy are in some kind of crazy denial to believe all those screenshots are faked.

Prophet knows what he's talking about, at least partly. To say that all the HL2 screenshots out there are faked is totally ignorant, because there are builds of the game spread around the net. None of the builds are too comprehensive; they basically glorify the strength of the Source engine by letting you play about 20 small maps, most with missing textures.

I don't know how I can read an editorial as truthful when the author seems to be claiming there is no playable build of HL2 out and most of the screenshots of it are just faked.

Edit: the editorial was deleted. Perhaps the author realized the fallacies in his arguments.

there is a playable version of halflife2, and you can EVEN play against people in multiplayer on it
