Well, I take my machine to university and there are times when I boot Steam and it tells me there are no user account information stored on this computer. So i have to find a connection and log back in. This makes it so much easier

Didn't Valve mention some surprises for HL2? They also said they are creating levels for HL2 for those with high-end graphic cards. Generally speaking, they don't want to rip off their ATI video cards fans.

I doubt the december update will include a lot of fixes. Most likely, it will include additions, like maps for CS:S and maybe a large bug fix for half-life 2/cs:s or something.
