CAL-i Season 9 Week 8:2 :: de_cbble

Well, it's the last match of the season in CAL before playoffs start. For some teams, this is going to be the match that decides whether or not they will be able to make playoffs. For other teams, playoffs are out of the question and they're just playing for rounds.



3D's hope at a perfect season was shot down by TEC on Wednesday where they played a makeup match on de_nuke. 3D played unusually poor in that match. Nuke is one of 3D's best maps, but Elude of TEC scored a surprising save round ace in the second half of the match. 3D plays TSG today, which will be the ultimate test for TSG to further prove their "old zEx" roster. TSG is fighting for the lead of the Gamma division, with TEC and Shockwave competing for the lead as well.



TSO vs. hs should be an interesting match tonight. Hicks with Sticks have not gotten any real wins at all this season, their only two wins in their record coming from forfeit wins. Thankfully for them, their last match of the season is versus another lower-tier team who they have a chance of beating. I suppose hs could be shooting for that enviable perfect "no-win" season trophy, though.



The last two matches tonight deserving mention are Rival vs. u5 and TEC vs. shock. Rival had an outstanding match when they played shock on Monday, while u5 could barely pull off a few rounds when they played 3D, so to see Rival playing u5 tonight could be a blowout if u5 plays like they have in their past three matches. Shock has to go up against the "3D killers" - TEC - and they need to step up their level of play if they want to win their fight for the division title. looking at what happened between 3D and TEC, 3D is really gonna have to step it up as they play, who i think, is the 2nd best team in CAL-I, TSG. So in my eyes, its #1 3D vs #2 TSG. Its going to be a match for the books :-) But wait, oh shit! de_cbble, 3D's horrid map, ah fuck!

well, shaguar played for rival yesterday in the ugs-pro match against forsaken. his name was angelus in the game. even the forsaken guys said it was him on their irc channel
