I honestly have nothing against 1.6 and think that the new additions are nice. However, it IS distributed through Steam, and I am definitely not a fan of that. Am I sad that the 1.5 skins are gone? Hell yes. Will I get over it? I already have. I've reskinned every last thing you can reskin, so I will just keep it at the status quo. Until 1.6 is released in just a csv16full.exe install file w/o Steam, I'll stick with my 1.5 goodness. Plus, if WON dies, I don't care since I have so much custom stuff servers don't like me anyways.

DarkViper, wut's up with you and 1.6? I mean, the gameplay is almost exactly the same, except for the shield, and most servers have disabled that anyway.



I wont press you to play 1.6 anymore however. You can keep playing with your bots on lan games until you have absoluetly no social life whatsoever.



And I just found out that tin soldier's v_m4a1 will work in 1.6.

me too, theres no reason why the old 1.5 models shouldnt work...i mean even the older 1.3 models work...just do a bit of renaming, and voila.



btw, saying things like: "steam suxxors, i hate 1.6" etc makes you look like a dick. so stop it. for your own good.



and to add, my steam desktop icon has mysteriously changed to the 'cheating death' icon. is this a hidden message or some sort?

it's been quite a while since i last visited CSN, and i'm saddened that the 1.5 skins have been taken out. i don't see myself playing 1.6 in the near future as my internet connection is slow, and it cost an arm and a leg to get a faster connection.

I have and still do play CS1.6 regularly, through Steam, on my 56k modem. I have never understood how people can constantly sit there and claim that Steam doesn't work over crappy connections. I have a crappy connection, and it works just fine. Get over it people, seriously!



Anyway, decision was made, it's not changing, so there's no point in whining about it any longer. How about you focus that effort on submitting new and cool CS1.6 skins?

so how are you supposed to change the shield skin? it seems that with steam you can only change the shield skin by editing the v_model for every single gun. is there an easier way? i'm looking to do my own skin....
