    CS Snippets

    It's that time again for yet another, if a little brief, newsbits!
    • counter-server has updated their config generator to be compatible with 1.6. what does this do you may ask? well for admins new to the cs server scene, this helps greatly in starting up a server by editing your own variables and options. if you own or maintain a cs server, i recommend that you give this a shot as it doesn't hurt to try.

    • realbot is being overhauled to support 1.6 over steam, but it is still not yet finished. most of you question the purpose of bots over steam, and to be quite frank they are useful if let's say your broadband connection is down, or put simply you just have this uncontrollable urge for bots! if so, you should check to see what realbot offers right now.
    Now go off and become a tolerant, respectful, and mature admin!

      The generator outputs +max players. Shouldn't it be +maxplayers ? (no space). I dunno.

          Is there even a way to connect to Steam if your broadband is down? If there is, please tell me.

                  Yeah, Constantine, I have the same question. How do you start steam if your ISP is down?

                  I miss the 1.6 beta bots as they were actually fairly good practice/warmups. What happened to them?

                    you need the internet to play steam. since there are files that u have to download everytime u want to play, even single player -_-;;

                    who knows they may change it, but i doubt it. steam is stupid ;|

                          I fail to understand how offline Steam bots will work. In order to run CS 1.6, you MUST connect to Steam, correct? Even if you are planning to play a LAN game, you must have a connection to the Steam network before the CS executable can be run...

                          So, if your Net connection is down, for example, you cannot connect to Steam, thus you cannot run CS, and thus you cannot play against bots. So I don't see how it works.

                          Am I missing something here?
