Just say no to turbans and druglords...

Maybe valve is planning a surprise for us in the final release - it would be about the ONLY thing that would surprise ANYONE lately.

I've seen other sources say that the new models work on older revs - can't be much worse than the default swimming action of the current models.

From your review rizzuh I will now go out and buy the game. It looks very good and will polish up my rusty cs skillz in the game. Looks like a big traning game to me to get ppl ready to play cs mutiplayer on the internet.

Also just to throw my two cents in,

CS on xbox isnt bad either, I got to play alil of it at E3 and from the lil I played I had a blast. If I had a shitty computer and couldnt customize CS to my full enjoyment BUT had an xbox...I would definatly say to at least try the Xbox version when it comes out.

For those of you who'd rather play Ritual's version of the game, CZ will also include 12 of Ritual's single player missions. Those missions will also feature special equipment and updated weapon models. However, if you were hoping to use Ritual's updated weapon and player models in CS multiplayer, you're out of luck. According to Valve, they were unable to get those models to work correctly. This seems strange, considering the team at Ritual was playing vanilla CS using those models several months ago. Ironically, Counter-Strike Xbox will still feature those apparently broken models.
Bullshit Valve any moron can put custom models in CS.

i think the way ritual was making the game was crap. it was way to linear. i would prefer running around maps completeing objectives and killing t's over that soldier of fortune 2 style crap.

It means that the master CD of which they copy all CD's (for consumer use) has entered it's last stage. So basically, they're copying the game on a million CD's right now.

                    exactly.

sure, new models would look nice, but the game would have BEEN AS BORING AS HELL

soldier of fortune and sof2, imo, had no replay value. the only thing it had going for them were the models, becuase the game play defintely blew. run...shoot shit..run some more..open door..shoot more shit. that is not what cs is about. ok so we dont have brand new spiffy models..boo hoo they probably woulda plummeted the framerate anyways (32 player servers anyone).

The point is not about the game to be fun or not. Does CS 1.6 with bots worth buying? Is it sth worth paying that amount of money for?

Everyone talks about Tony Hawk style gaming. Tony Hawk was released as a standalone game. Not as a single player practicing extension for a free multiplayer game.

Ive just played through rituals leaked version, its pretty boring and generic - its like uber boring. The weapon models are prettier, but nothing to write home about.

Lets hope turtle did a better job.

Yeah, and another thing, don't blame Valve for this. They are trying to make Condition Zero as best as possible, no matter how long or how hard it's going to take. Turtle Rock Studios' version must have been incredible for it to go gold that fast, unlike Gearbox and Ritual, which took them over 2 years.
what a complete lie; valve are trying to make money out of it, theyve been milking the halflife name for as long as possible and they want to keep people interested in it until hl2 comes out, so they can charge a bit more money for it(simple economics) and so people wont complain when they charge for TF2 and CS2 because theyre used to paying money for modifications that have always been free.

                              Good post Rizzuh.

Lets not forget, a good portion of the Ritual maps will be included in CS:CZ, along with the custom models/new weapons (ownage). The custom models should be in multiplayer too, I hope. It is very strange how the Ritual models/weapons will be in CSX. If you can use the M-60, and other new weapons in CSX but not CS:CZ, then I will most likely get CSX.

equally you can say that SOF2 had a vague storyline, and wasnt just shooting people for no particular reason like CS is.
