    The Future of CS Movies?

You may remember last year's ground breaking CS movie Militia2, well the potential future of in-game films is looking even more exciting with this news from HalfLife2Files. A guy named Pendragon sent a question to Gabe Newell regarding the Half-Life 2 engine's ability to render movies:
I was curious about the potential of the HL2 editing suite and the Source engine. If a team was able to create sets and characters and script the action, etc. would the Source engine be able to render this as a movie? If so, would it be possible to set it so that Source renders it not in realtime but at whatever rate is needed to achieve a set level of detail? I was inspired by part of the E3 demo video that the Source engine might be an ideal platform for CG videos, sort of like a garage version of Pixar.

Gabe Newell: Yes you can set the framerate to whatever rate you want and render frames accordingly.
So assuming that Counter-Strike one day makes it onto the half-life 2 engine, your CS videos will only be limited by your imagination.

That would be amazing, imagine the militia movies in decent quality with decent physics.

        Wowzers.

Yes, and flying cars will be the norm and the world will be powered by sausage fuelled power stations.

(CS2 is a long way off in other words)

Minh Le himself is in charge of this Valve Software project.

                      Valve's money + Gooseman's skill = Counter-Strike 2.

i doubt gooseman had real 'skill' making CS, he just got lucky, in the right place at the right time, imho.

Even if you don't capitalize Half-Life 2's Source engine, at least spell it correctly.
