Steam Mod Updates

Update: The Updates are now live on Steam.



Counter-Strike and TFC are set to be updated via steam around 6:00 PM PDT today. Like any of the other updates you'll need to restart Steam to grab them. Here's what's new:



Counter-Strike

• fixed shield not resetting player max speed when dropped
  
  
• fixed being able to throw shield through walls if close enough
  
  
• fixed dropping shield while reloading pistol causing the reload to happen faster
  
  
• fixed case where shield could become invisible to other users
  
  
• fixed typos in de_aztec and de_airstrip map descriptions

What happened to the invincibility fix? For the TFC update info and Steam client head on over to SteamPowered.com.

invisible to other users, more like invincible am i rite guys. hope that's a typo.



edit: steampowered.com is striking out tonight i think. I don't see why you would have to restart steam to grab mod updates, you only have to restart it for platform updates and i don't think there is one tonight.

Nope... prolly not a typo. There is a bug that makes it invisible. Why they won't fix the server crash and invincibility is beyond everyone...



Yet another near useless update that took weeks to complete....

Oh well. I gotta wait for them to fix that invincibility and crashing bugs before I enable it on my server. I think it'd be a great addition to cs_maps like cs_assualt and cs_italy if the Ts are camping like they should.



I just gotta wait for them to fix it.

As far as I know, invincibility and server crash bugs were patched awhile back, you just have to reset your server.

Of interest there is a new sprite. I examined the diffference between the new and the old, look yourself:

Looks like we get little icons now to tell us something about how many hostages we have following us or something? And also that the bomb has been planted perhaps?

since valve are adding these features into CS:CZ, it would seem they will be added into regular CS too!
