no new equipment? you can't play as a terrorist? statsme+podbot+custom maps/models sounds like more fun than CS:CZ and it's free. i was really hoping for more of a Counter-Strike 1 and 1/2 title and not a step backward. i am still glad i canceled my pre-order 5 months ago.

Agh God this just beats all...
The reviewers said that the game features solid gameplay which is fun as all hell (apparently), but everyone complains about the reuse of models. Then someone posts a comment about "prefering eye candy to a good game" (I can't remember who, and I dont want to look for the post). Dude, that is the dumbest argument ever. Graphics ARE a good game. A game should comprise of two elements: graphics, and gameplay. Without one the other is moot. I don't care if it plays smoothly or gameplay is fun... if it lacks aesthetic value your just going to stop playing it. likewise, if a game looks good, but plays bad, it's not going to succeed.
Another thing, I can't really see the logic behind taking away the models. I really can't. Maybe it's obvious to some people, but taking away an integral part of the games appearance and replacing it with weapon and player skins we've seen TWO FUCKING TRILLION TIMES BEFORE, seems a little dumb to me.
I was really excited about CZ until this review. I'll wait for 2.0 instead of buying 1.7.Comment

I talked to a guy last night that I've played cs with a few times. He was telling me he downloaded the leaked Condition Zero and has beaten it as well. I asked him about it and if it had new models/skins or not. He told me that it does in fact have rituals player models/skins and weapon models/skins. He said the MP5 and the pump shottie have the flashlights incorporated into them, I asked him about that since I asked you guys about that on here last night. He said with the MP5 and pump, if you use secondary fire, it turns the flashlight on for those guns. He sent me a few screen shots as well. Looks awesome. It's the same stuff that's on rituals webpage. He said it has story and everything, all the missions. That it's nothing like the tony hawk style game play that was shown and talked about here on csnation. He said in the credits, that rituals websites where listed and it gave credit to ritual as well as valve and someone else I forget who the third person he said was. It sucks that if the one going on sale next month is going to be nothing like what this guy is telling me. But oh well I guess, I'll still buy the game. Still looking forward to it.Comment

OMG this really is terrible. CZ is now just like an update from 1.6. I thought CZ was gonna have some kind of single player story mode with a brand new look, new skins and models. I mean come on ffs why the hell has CZ taken this long, i thought it was because of all the new single player missions and new player/weapon skins. When I read this hands on or what ever rizzuh likes to call it its just like an updated 1.6 with new WADs for each map lmao. I see that all the single player is, is just aload of bots and you have little set targets to kill 1 bot with a pistol. I thought they were trying to implement some kind of single player story mode like some other games out there, obviously not. So i guess it sums up that CZ is nothing we all expected it to be. I think valve have serously messed up here, many will aggree and i just needed to get all of this out. WTF happened to all the shit about the player models changing to suit the map enviroment. For example when there is a map like dust on the player models would all look suited for desert combat, wearing desert gear. And what about all the new fire sprites where the hell has all of this gone. What a mess this really is.Comment

GOD DAMN the game is gonna be great and i probably think they would put in new models... so every1 can enjoy it and that I think the 1 player game will be great and challenging in some aspects. LOL The only thing to look forward to now is the Old-Skool CS nostalgia project by Cliffe which could possibly be a mod based on the old betas. No dis credit to you rizzuh but its true.
