This is my first year trying to follow all this cal stuff, and I must say, I was rather confused. But I -think- I understand now. I just have one really noob question; What exactly is WCG?

World Championship of Gaming. Its a competition in Korea. But there are qualifiers and tournies in different places also (San Francisco this week). I'm not an expert on this, but if I remember correctly (and I might not) each country (or maybe qualifier) gets one team into the competition. Thus Canada made a "Team Canada" for WCG. It's a combination of the best players from different teams. I'm not an expert and might easily be wrong on this topic though so don't take my word for it.

Please tell me they are..I love em but i'm gonna have to find a new team since TAU is from texas and they mostly hate californians...

Well, 3D has a canadian member, but no, they aren't based in Canada.

WCG actually stands for World Cyber Games, nice try tho ;p



What happens is a certain amount of countries are allocated a place in the finals in Korea (note not all the countries you'd expect are allocated a space, Norway does not have a team entered for example) and then the WCG sub-organisation in each counry is left to organise the qualifier(s) to decide on which team from each country will attend.



Basically, it's a tournament with the best "team" from each country attending, altough instead of being the top 5 players from each country, it is the actual team.
