the leaker isnt doing it for attention nub, but gj anyways, its leaked anonymously.
      Sigh...

Ok, first, he/she/it isn't going to do it "for attention" for the simple fact that he/she/it doesn't want to get caught by VALVe/FBI/others. Otherwise he/she/it would probably be posting everywhere about it and how awesomely rad he/she/it is. How do I know that this hacker wants attention? Look at the "anonymous leaker" posts. I mean come on. This person is not only stupid, but suicidal to start publishing what they did. You're damned right they want attention. And I don't buy into this whole "Lollerskates I'm anonymous and VALVe has scripted sequences!!!" because of the fact that VALVe DID NOT say "Yeah, absolutely 100% no scripted sequences." They said that there were less scripted sequences because of the AI.

I would never touch ANY code compiled by this moron. You never know what's been slipped into there.
I dont think this is compiled by him, this is stuff compiled by valve that was stolen along with the source, correct me if I'm wrong

mind you its no different to beta testing something, people aren't gonna play this and not buy the eventual release. They will play it to satisfy their curiosity.
Yes it is. This software isn't beta. It's not even alpha. It's still in development. I would say that it's very different.

damn hackers delay all valve's games!!! ARGH!

I can't help but to be mad at Valve anyways. The source should've been stored on a much more secure computer. Windows + Outlook + 24/7 internet line = not so secure. Comon', even people in a comp sci 101 class would've known to put it on something more secure that that.

So for that, I don't feel sorry for Valve.

all these events are a huge an image problem for valve. valve has to get this guy! We need to see this guy go to jail!
Why is this an image problem for Valve? Because their network wasn't secure? Because they delayed it? Whats your view here...

I thought VALVe said a long time ago you could easily port HL1 mods to HL2?

According to ANON (the person(s) who has released HL2 source, HL2, HL2+CS1+HL1 and CZ to the world) HL2 pre-gold and TF2 will be put out in the next few days.

Which isn't suprising, really. If you can steal a few gigs (as we've seen from the 'evidence'), who knows how much he/they actually took before Valve noticed.

mabey steam cs1.6 is accually cs1.5 ported to the hl2 engine?

it seems a bit stupid they would have cs1.6 and half-life on steam, and also the same ported to the hl2 engine on steam

the screenshots of half-life running on the hl2 engine dont look much different except for the hud...

it will also cut the download size of hl2 if we have half the engine installed with steam already.

I do not believe for a second that the delay is really caused by the hack in. And I do not care about this new release of code. It does not change anything for Valve. No "surprise" that would have made Valve a red cent as been ruined. They want to keep all this junk secret just for the sake of keeping secrets. It is corporate stupidity.

Hell, they should be coding everything in open source. Let fans see what has been completed already and send in patches if they want. If another company steals a single line of that code it would be Valve's wet dream. They would turn into the SCO of the gaming world in about a minute.

Oh, you mean like all the other software companies that use open source development? Okay.

Now all we have to do is wait for some retard to download it and talk about how cool it is and how much they hate Valve, and then go wait in a four hour line for HL2 when it comes out.

And about this pushing the release of CS:CZ back, I really hope it doesn't, especially after the talk of it going 'gold' this Friday.

I'm just looking forward to everything being released when Valve wants to release it.

As many have said before... this sux!!

I have to admit, as a Games Development student I was intriged to view this source code... but I didn't in protest to it! Websites posting these links are just as guilty as the guy who hacked the Valve compuer in the first place! I would suggest to Rizzuh and other CS Nation members to keep them off here!

I have reason to believe files were only copied... not taken. They're re-writing parts of the game that were copied... which is weird TBH! It's not as if they are trying to cover up their advanced techniques and FX! It's too late for that... why re-write it to gain the same effect?! The only thing would be due to hax being developed easily!

i wonder if counter-strike in the original half-life engine and in the half-life 2 engine would've been compatible online? or be compatible when all this eventually gets finished and released. and if its so easy to convert hl1>hl2 how about condition zero in the half-life 2 engine? i think that would be pretty goddamn neat :)
