Counter-Strike 1.6 Update

The Counter-Strike 1.6 update that was mentioned yesterday is now live on Steam. This update is primarily for dedicated servers and does not yet include the updated de_cbble. It will require a server restart, and will take effect when you run the stand-alone (HLDS) update tool.

A much needed patch. If this fixes the shield problems in Counter-Strike we can get a better sense of how this new addition to the CT arsenal fits into play.



Update: Erik Johnson has posted to this very comments page that this steam update does not include the new version of Cobble:

This update doesn't yet include the new version of de_cbble. That is coming soon.

David Johnston has also elaborated on some of the changes coming to Cobble on our comment pages, and it seems that the changes to the map are all bug fixes.

sad thing about me is, i never noticed what the shield exploit is\was.. can anyone enlighten me on this now that its a thing of the past?

I dont really know WHAT the shield exploit was, but i could tell it was probably a way of using the shield and firing at the same time. Maybe it was the Dual berreta thing...

Now steam is giving me errors.. like.. No Children Registered yet.. what is that!!! That's the dumbest error I've ever heard of.. And it says my games are not available.. so what happened between today and last night...

idk if this was in the last version of cobble or not, i just ran around quick to see changes but if you go in the T tower to the top, look at the door against the wall and there is a huge gap right next to it. I assume its a missing brush but i could be wrong =\

maybe you have to give birth to some kids before u can connect or if you already have them you may have to register them with steam so they can use them for the 'CONSPIRACY'...its a conspiracy run for your lives.

i think Steam starts a lot faster but it still eats a lot of RAM so i cant keep it running in the background as i watch porn...before a game.

and what does prodigy have anything to do with the map's name. (de_prodigy). Makes sense why dust is called dust but prodigy...look it up in a dictionary ppl...and davej, no dust updates,like new textures...tht would be cool.
