I'm sure after sitting on the edge of your seat for nearly ten hours was intense--and worthy of up to the minute coverage here on CS-Nation--but keep in mind that we're also here to cover the future of CS as our silly tagline advertises so well! In this case, actually, GameSpy is covering the future with their early impressions of CS for Xbox.
The game boils down, then, in whatever mode you choose, into a fight between these two opposing forces. When VALVe pondered how to create a single-player mode for the console crowd -- the PC version never had one -- it decided that matches versus highly evolved, computer-controlled A.I. players (yes, bots) is the way to go. If you're pondering buying this one and you don't have Xbox Live, well, don't. As cool as the AI routines are, you don't really want to rely on them to get pleasure from the title. On the other hand, the bots are intelligent enough to be a real help as your teammates, so if you don't have quite enough players to fill out a full-sized game, these excellent AIs come in handy. They don't ramble on too much about the title, but what they do say isn't negative. Actually, it's more of an ad for that CSX video FilePlanet is hosting and a general CSX description. But hey, that's what you get when you cover the future: Descriptions.
