CAL Female Division Denied

How would you even confirm that the participants were actually females? Not only is this idea pretty stupid, it would also be pretty unfeasible.

Guys would join the league and pretend to be female for an easy win, sorry but there arn't many good females on CS these days. The league would be male dominated, no way to proove someone is male or female over the internet.

I don't think there are many female cs players compared to the number of male players. I also don't think females in general will be as gung-ho about being in an online clan and thinking that they are leet. It's a childish thing that I think most girls probably don't feel the need to be a part of.



I mean, you ever notice the strange "i'm better than you cuz I'm in CAL this and you should respect me because of that" behavior? And there are always the "What leagues are you in?" that happens on pubs. Like, who cares?



I know girls won't. And that probably leads to them playing more for competitiveness and fun, rather than basing their self-esteem on it; the latter of which would lead to an obsessive devotion rather than a hobby. Not saying that all CAL or competitive teams are filled with online elitist people. Just the majority of them that I come across.

If they made a Male only, Female only, and Unisex league, females would argue that the Male only league is bias and doesn't need to exist, while maintaining that the female only league is not bias. Common nature for a female to always complain about males.

I think you hit the nail right on the head. All though not all girls are like that. I do know a few wh oside with the guys ;D



But yes, is in the nature of females to complain about anything that does not benifit them.



Its like way back then when Females did not have equal rights (should of anyways they are human beings) They faught for equal rights and they got equal rights. Now all they do is complain about their rights, saying they are not good enough.



I wouldent be surprised if theres some femenist extreme group out there protesting that the Female Division was denied because men are stupid and are pigs. I seriously would not be surprised.

You can't compare CS with a real sport like Basketball because there are physical issues present which complicate things. You don't see females in the NBA because they're slower, smaller, and not as strong as the men. Obviously many of them are beyond the average male, but it seems to me that a low-end college male team could handle the females pretty easily just based on physical stature. No matter how good they are, only a handful of women can get to the rim which would make rebounding a joke. There aren't women in the NBA because none of them would be good enough to make it. There's no specific, rule-based segregation.

The point is that females don't play CS as well as males. Just like in Quake3 at LAN's they had a female only tournament because they couldn't do well in an open tourney against other males. This isn't sexist it's just a fact. Most females are terrible at CS. There's only a few exceptions and I'm sure they're not hot or skinny! LOL!



Tennis isn't sexist it just separates the males because they have better skills and more power. But I'm sure the Williams sisters could give alot of the males a run for the their money. But the majority of females pale in comparision to even a low ranked male tennis player.



Basically there's no point in females playing against males in CS because they are going to lose. If females could play against other females at least there would be a female winning clan. You not going to see this in the regular divisions. So they have no chance so there no the point of competing unless it's just for the fun of it(losing).

I don't see any reasonable way the CAL could have even hoped to enforce a female-only league, had they tried. An online all-female league just doesn't work. I say that mostly because of all the guys I know who have joined "all-female" teams just for the heck of it.



However, I think the idea of female LANs is a perfectly fine idea. I know we've all grown up in this BS culture of "men and women are no different" and such, but I think just about any of us are smart enough to realize that there are differences between men and women.



The argument that games remove all normal sport gender boundaries is similarly BS, in my opinion. There is a reason that you don't see females in CAL-i teams, and it's not sexism.



So yeah, I'm a supporter of the idea of having female-only LAN events (just like there is a WNBA and such), to create a league in which top-notch women can compete successfully among peers of similar skill level.



It's the same reason I like pubs -- I get to play with other people who suck as much as I do, and so I can sometimes have a degree of success while I play. :)

That is ludicrous. What, exactly, do you think separates the potential abilities between a man or a woman playing CS? Other than the fact that probably, most girls who play CS aren't as devoted to the game and practice as much as most of the guys who play CS.

I would tend to think the reason is that the small minority of people who play CS that are girls aren't good enough or don't play as much to get into CAL-i. But that has nothing to do with inherent disadvantages that a female has for online gaming.
