i figuared out how to get custom models in 1.6 just make a models folder and put them in there. same lay out as 1.5. the only thing though i couldnt get the p models to work. cs would start loading and then just quit. you can do the same with sprites as well they work fine.

I already told you current custom p_models won't work.. Only one that got thru the consistency check was a mp5 one, the rest failed..



I also renamed an AUG custom Famas skin to famas.mdl and it works for the famas, same for a AK-47 Galil custom skin for the galil.mdl, so I got all weapons now in high-poly, just not the p_models..



rest of my CS 1.6 is all set-up like CS 1.5 was (models, buyscripts etc), I'm a happy camper now.. :)



P.s. anyone got the mod weaponnames working again? that titels.txt file didn't work for me..

Um, ok I have regular Steam Installed Steaminstall.exe I dont have the steaminstall_cs.exe. I can get mine to work when i start it up it says updating.... then says Fatal error: couldn't connect to any... then closes!!! what do i do???!!! I have a clan i pay with and now i cant play cs with them at all... DLing the cache right now hopefully that will work. Until this is fixed i'll have to wait for CS: CZ to come out.

wee another steam bug



when i run steam outside of cs, like in windows, everything is coo

after i open cs and disconnect or something... i goto servers option (remember this is while in cs) and when i click refresh all servers, no servers come up! and the only filter i have is that the game must be cstrike!

oh yeah i got another annoying glitch, when I alt-tab out of cs and tab back in all the walls are psychadelic colors and moving. fun for a bit but hitting a moving target u dunno which bit to aim for :S



oh yeah i got an idea for fixing the shield: make it so only non-lame weapons can shoot through it; scout being only sniper rifle that can, ak being only auto rifle that can, and usp n glock go thru the window or something.

What I dislike about Steam is that all the updates are online. There is zero broadcast about Counter-Strike on TV and stuff, so when I saw 1.6 was officially out, it came as a surprise to me. Steam is so full of bugs. Judging from what I've seen so far, it's not as customizable as before, and that detracts from people who want to continue playing upgraded CS...or makes them wanting to screw with their comp files.



Clarify: If CS is now gonna be updated round the clock with Steam, does that mean (in worst case scenario) that a new version of CS comes out every other day or somthin'?



But to download a gig off the net...VALVe must think we are all high broadband gamer freaks (no offense = / ). 1.6's more powerful AND cheap weapons, plus the riot shield only goes to show that VALVe is just getting newcomers to get the game and cares very little to the vets that want a little bigger challenge than newbies who spray and pray for kills, focusing on the enemy, not on anyting else (objectives or otherwise).

omg this is the biggest load of s**t that valve has ever come up of. making steam needed for cs1.6. tsk tsk tsk valve think of the people whose computer keeps stuffing up, and steam doesnt work. tsk tsk tsk............like me.............

gah....ive tried every single titles.txt out there and they all dont affect the weapon names at all... its almost as if steam ignores that file in the folder. Anyone got a solution to this??
