In case you haven't noticed, Counter-Strike 1.6 is indeed final. Final in that leagues and everyone else will now be using it. It may be updated, however, which is one of the major features of Steam. The developers at VALVe will be able to balance the game's major changes without doing another major release.



Steam is and always will be required to play CS 1.6.

Also, is there a titles.txt for STEAM that will let us use the real gun names? or will I have to edit the 1.5 one and put it in?

finally more server choices on steam...after playin on and off since the originally release..its been hard at times trying to find decent servers

Not to mention 1.6 isn't really that good, the pharse of the day is "If it isn't broke don't fix it" Who needs 2 more guns that suck, and black rectangle that stops bullets and blocks off paths?

THIS IS THE BEST GAME I'VE PLAYED IN A LONG TIME. RESTARTS AND CRASHES AT EVERY TURN!!! The best part is I'm good at the game to. I'm assuming the object of the game is to crash and freeze and restart as many times as possible, I mean thats what happened in the beta versions right?

EDIT: PROGESS!!, I didn't even restart it and it downgraded to 28%, call me a hacker!!

steam appears to read files it doesnt have..but were common to old version old cs...for example if u added a models folder into the steam directory it would read it..even though it isnt there by default.'Yet"...so id imagine that if u took the titles.txt from 1.5 and addded it into the new steam directory it would work

Maybe now they will balance out the AR dominance and unnerf the pumpshotty, while upping the SMGs effectiveness... but then again, this is VALVe, who want to make sure any newb can get into CS, buy a galil or m4, and just run around spraying.

It won't work because the 1.5 titles.txt is missing the Galil, FAMAS, and Riot Shield.

Will take a hell of a lot of getting used to.... dont think ive played with 1 person who likes the riot shield........ i love it though.... inferno is now bound to be the new public map... love that corridor with shield vs awp. =D

The server distributions of Steam download titles.txt. Someone other than me could easily edit it.
