I don't. But, where I am, there's only one hour left for this day (four hours for them), so a post-midnight announcement that it was delayed another day might be an obvious statement. 8vD

Well it's now Sept. 12th in the east coast. I guess they still have 3 hours to meet their deadline. 3am EST is actually a smart release time on their part since not many people would be online at that time.

Good thing I'm on the West coast. I still have to study for a few exams. I'm still waiting though...

Only VALVe could have a product in BETA stage for 8 months and still not be able to meet their own announced release date.

The Steam client download that was scheduled for release yesterday (9/10/03) was delayed by VALVe until today (9/11/03). Today came...and went...and no Steam, no CS 1.6.

Whats worse is that even with countless numbers of CS players and server admins waiting VALVe does not even release a statement about what has happened to the release of Steam. I guess they assume we will just grow tired of waiting and go to bed. Well, they're right...sad.

                  gg VALVe.

The funny thing is people actually believe Valve will meet their release date of 9/30 for H2

"Dispite the rumors, Steam Final 1.0 will be released tonight, Sept. 11, 2003. We are working as hard as we can to get the Steam Servers up and running. We would rather have a working program then a buggy beta-like program. If Steam is not released tonight, then we will post a new release date, which will be shortly after today."

                        Keep your fingers crossed.

More misleading comments by Valve..., much like their Half-Life 2 release date claims.

                            Carrot and donkey scenario...

Clearly Valve knows by now whether or not they will be releasing it by midnight PST. If they're not going to make it they should post about it now. Not after they miss the deadline.

Clearly this is all dumb. :\

I think everything got screwed up, when Eric Johnson stated in his email, "this would be the best time to obtain a low steamid." With that said, everyone feels the need to get a low steamid, because they think it's similar to wonid's, lowest meaning you've played longer than the other person with a higher wonid, meaning "greater skill". But that's just not the case with steamid's. So all these servers and everything are just getting overloaded with people rushing to get low steamid's. That was a major mistake in saying that.
