    CAL-i Season 9 Week 3:1 de_dust2

Tonight kicks off the third week of CAL-i. The map will be de_dust2 so look for some exciting and close matches. The match of the night is TSG vs. TEC. With TSG's additions of Shaguar, Sunman, and Method, this will prove to be a match worth watching. Will the All-Star lineup of TSG be able to overcome not having played much with each other?

Another close game should be between last season's 11-game winners, Xeno, against the 6th-place CPL team, e7. Though Xeno is a disappointing 1-3 this season, let's hope that they can turn it up and get back some of the luster that they had last year.

The last four undefeated teams, 3D, Rival, U5, and 3DO will all be favorites in their matches against 1hq, nerve, mV, and EG respectively.

Sublyme has done predictions below, so click through for them![break="For predictions and more click here"]BiO (0-4) vs shock (3-1)

BiO is on a losing streak, despite picking up a new player. shock is in tip-top shape however, and it's not a difficult prediction in this situation.

Prediction: shock -over- BiO :: 16-8

    Start Time: TBA

    Agent (0-4) vs RDW (2-2)

Another bit of a lopsided match, as Agent is really struggling to get things going this season. Still another 12 matches to go, but with this start it's going to be hard to get momentum going. Meanwhile, rdw despite losing destrukt is still looking powerful.

Prediction: rdw -over- Agent :: 15-9

    Start Time: 9:30 EST

    HLTV: tv.gamedaemons.net:2001

    Scorebot: #calcast

    TEC (3-1) vs TSG (3-1)

TSG is really looking like a top-notch team now, what with former zEx members sunman, shaguar and volcano and former GX starter method on roster. It's going to be an interesting match tonight, as TEC still seems to be sorting things out. I'm going to make this one a narrow win for TSG.

Prediction: TSG -over- TEC :: 14-10

    Start Time: 9:30pm EST

    HLTV: tv.gamedaemons.net:2501

    Scorebot: #calcast2

    Eminence (2-2) vs hs (0-4)

Prediction: Tonight must be the night of lopsided matches, as here is another - 2-2 Eminence vs hicks with sticks, who for their credit are still hanging in there. It's not too difficult to call this game.

Prediction: Eminence -over- hs :: 17-7

    Start Time: TBA

    mV (3-1) vs U5 (2-0)

United 5 is looking quite tight so far in invite, and mV is doing much better than expected. The canadians at mV are probably feeling confident going in tonight, but I'm going to go on a limb and say U5 has what it takes to win this game, given the many roster changes mV has suffered and U5 has held a stable one for quite some time.

    Prediction: U5 -over- mV :: 14-10

    Start Time: TBA

    3D (4-0) vs 1hq (1-3)

Lopsided. Word of the day kids, learn it well and use it in conversation with your parents so they know CS-Nation is educating you. 3D is still the top dogs of the USA and noone is coming very close to them right now, let alone an upset; 1hq shouldn't be expected to be that team.

    Prediction: 3D -over- 1hq :: 17-7

    Start Time: TBA

    TAU (1-3) vs GameWyze (2-2)

TAU has some interesting strats for dust2, as my CAL-m team had the opportunity to scrim them. Meanwhile GameWyze is sitting on a 2-2 record and I can't speak for what strats they have under their belt; I think this game will come down to who can make the more important shots, as I doubt we'll see much "domination" from either team.

Prediction: TAU -over- GameWyze :: 15-9

    Start Time: 9:30 EST

    Scorebot: #calcast3

    e7 (3-1) vs Xeno (1-3)

Xeno is really disappointing me; they have what it takes to possibly be a top-tier CAL-i team, and right now they're at a rough start on a 1-3 record. e7 meanwhile hasn't lost a lot of their steam, despite having a new starter. My mind is betraying my heart right now, as one is telling me to expect a Xeno upset, but I'm going to take the safe bet for now.

    Prediction: e7 -over- Xeno :: 15-9

    Start Time: 9:00 EST

    Scorebot: #calcast4

    Pinnacle (2-2) vs MurK (2-2)

Even records should not be judged as even skill. Thus, MurK would appear to be the obvious favorite of this game. Pinnacle is looking strong as of late, however, defeating e7 14-10. So will the icelandic players of MurK be able to play this game lag free? I'm not so sure; I'm siding with a hot streak and lag on this one as factors.

Prediction: Pinnacle -over- MurK :: 14-10

    Start Time: 8:00 EST

    Scorebot: #calcast5

    zEx(3-1) vs DeadZone (1-3)

The new zEx is looking very strong, taking 3D to overtime and barely missing a tie. Canadian sensations DeadZone look to be having a rough start, much like fellow moveup and CAL-m champion Agent. This game is going to come down to the fact that zEx is simply better; DeadZone has what it takes to be a contender but they still need the experience.

Prediction: zEx -over- DeadZone :: 16-8

    Start Time: TBA

    GB (2-2) vs LgD (2-2)

GB showed DZ to the door last week, destroying them to set an even record. LgD has really only had the bad fortune of being destroyed by zEx, but they still aren't playing nearly as well as GB is and has in the past.

Prediction: GB -over- LgD :: 15-9

    Start Time: 9:00 EST

    HLTV: tv.gamedaemons.net:3001

    Scorebot: #calcast6

    WEW (1-3) vs LaR (1-3)

Even records, but will this be a fair match? LaR is struggling but to be fair they're a new moveup; WEW is CAL-i veterans and haven't been on top since losing most of their starters that established them the past couple seasons. I think LaR has a shot at taking home a win here.

Prediction: LaR -over- WEW :: 14-10

    Start Time: TBA

    ICE (2-2) vs TSO (1-3)

TSO has been tweaking their roster the past few seasons and seems to have finally settled on a set 5. ICE has been having a decent time at 2-2, and last season was definitely a strong one for them when they were formerly known as Ownij. I'd love to see a TSO "upset", but common sense says to side with ICE.

Prediction: ICE -over- TSO :: 16-8

    Start Time: 11:00 EST

    Scorebot: #calcast7

    Cc (1-2) vs SYB (1-2)

Why Cc still hasn't played 3DO is unbeknownst to me, but what I do know is that SYB is two-time CAL-Main Pacific champions. Cc is working on getting back in a groove as they've gotten their old starters back from Divine Marksmen, but I don't think they're back to that level of competition yet.

Prediction: SYB -over- Cc :: 15-9

    Start Time: 11:30 EST

    Scorebot: #calcast8

    EG(3-1) vs 3DO (2-0)

EG is certainly tearing things up this season at 3-1, while 3DO is doing strong for a new moveup with a 2-0 record. My faith lies with EG, while much public opinion would root for 3DO. I'm going to stick with my gut instinct and pick EG.

    Prediction: EG -over- 3DO

    Start Time: TBA

    nerve (2-2) vs Rival (4-0)

Rival, as I said before, is arguably the 2nd best US team at this moment, regardless of their CPL finish. nerve barely inched out a recovering Clan Crisis, but they also did just pickup former WCG starter #1Mug. One player isn't going to be enough to turn this game around, though, and it's definitely Rival's to win.

Prediction: Rival -over- nerve :: 18-6

    Start Time: 11:30 EST

    Scorebot: #calcast9

#3 TEC vs TSG and GB vs Legends should both be very close. Though the HLTV for the Agent match is kind of weird, there are no really good match ups this week except for TSG vs TEC.

look for the playbooks on gotfrag. They are listed per team, not per map, but its good to get ideas for. Also check out demos for maps you are playing on.
