Nerve barely pulled off a win in this match, after taking second place at the WCG last year, their performance this season has not been up to par especially after losing badly to SYB earlier this week. Still, nerve managed to muster up enough rounds to beat Clan Crisis for their second win of the season.
3DO over LaR - (20-4) (10-2 3DO as CT)(10-2 3DO as T)
This was quite a surprising game to many. 3DO's second match in CAL brings them to an undefeated 2-0 record. Both teams are new to CAL-i, and 3DO is obviously adjusting well after their win earlier this week versus TSO. After doing very well in CAL-M last season, 3DO is poised to do well in CAL-i also. Playing higher-tier clans such as TEC, TSG or 3D, for example, will definitely provide an extreme challenge to 3DO.
ICE over WEW - (15-9) (12-0 ICE as CT)(3-9 ICE as T)
After ICE dominated CT side and won 12 rounds in a row, they managed to pull out 3 wins on T side to beat WEW. WEW has been struggling in recent times, and I hope they can pull themselves together and do as well as they have done in previous seasons. WEW has fallen to a depressing 1-3 record this season.
TSG over Eminence - (13-11) (2-10 TSG as T)(11-1 TSG as CT)
With a weak first half by TSG, they came back strong as CT second half. Recent additions to the team Sunman and Volcano certainly helped TSG here, bringing their record to 3-1. TSG should easily be able to make playoffs, already beating strong teams such as mV and e--.
mV over BiO - (16-8) (7-5 mV as T)(9-3 mV as CT)
BiO is now 0-4. This is one of their worst seasons, which can be attributed to a weak roster compared to earlier seasons. mV easily picked up a win versus them yesterday without the help of Shaguar, who left mV after match one this week.
GB over DeadZone - (21-3) (10-2 GB as CT)(11-1 GB as T)
Good old GB. Expect them to make a comeback this season, they have what it takes to make it to playoffs. This match was an easy win for them as they decimated DeadZone 21-3.
Pinnacle over hs - (21-3) (10-2 P as CT)(11-1 P as T)
Hicks with Sticks has not been bringing much to the table. With no wins and four losses this season, things just don't look good for them. Getting dominated by Pinnacle on both CT and T sides, HS has got to be wondering to themselves what they are doing wrong.
e7 over 1hq - (16-8) (8-4 e7 as CT)(8-4 e7 as T)
e7 again showed some of the glimmer they had at the Summer CPL, as they easily beat 1hq yesterday. 1hq's record this season is poor, but expect them to pick up considerably more wins later in the season.
EG over SYB - (17-7) (7-5 EG as T)(10-2 EG as CT)
After SYB nearly made playoffs last season, they seem to have hit a snag. EG took this one without much trouble, doing very well on CT side to bring the match heavily in their favor.
Rival over TSO - (18-6) (9-3 Rival as CT)(9-3 Rival as T)
Nothing surprising here. Rival has been doing very well lately, both in CAL and various LANs, winning the Frag Zone tournament. TSO seems to be doing better than last season, but it wasn't enough to beat Rival last night.
TEC over RDW - (16-14) (4-8 TEC as T)(8-4 TEC as T)(4-2 TEC in OT)
TEC struggled to win this one, and Destrukt just couldn't bring himself to win this for RDW. TEC|Dorsey managed to do well in this match and lead his team to a very narrow victory over RDW.
shock over Agent - (16-8) (7-5 shock as T)(9-3 shock as CT)
Shock picked up another win over Agent, leaving everyone wondering about Agent's future. They're a recent moveup from CAL-M, and so far have won no matches. One hopes that they'll adjust to this caliber of play and start winning some matches soon.
LgD over xeno - (17-7) (10-2 LgD as T)(7-5 LgD as CT)
Quite a surprising and overwhelming win for Legends tonight. Due to their recent loss to zEx, and xeno's strong roster. Oddly enough, xeno played terribly on CT side, which is usually an easier side to play for most teams than the T side.
MurK over TAU - (14-10) (6-6 MurK as CT)(8-4 MurK as T)
Icelandic team MurK once again shows the world what it's made of. After getting knocked out at the Summer CPL in the single elimination round this year, they won over TAU yesterday, who has not been playing at the top of their game.
3D over zEx - (16-14) (5-7 3D as CT)(7-5 3D as T)(4-2 3D in OT)
Easily the match of the night, zEx proved to the world that it was not a one-hit wonder, even though they lost an extremely close match to Team 3D. New 3D player Boms managed to pull off an amazing 1v4 clutch in the final overtime round, winning it for 3D. Some zEx players complained of lag being a large issue, which brought to mind deja vu from last season where zEx lost the championship CAL-i match due to intermittent connection problems at their LAN center. The true test of zEx's new roster will come at this year's Winter CPL.
u5 over Gamewyze - (17-7) (6-6 u5 as CT)(11-1 u5 as T)
u5 has gotten well adjusted to CAL-i very quickly. Winning their second match with ease, they are already poised to make a huge impact on the playoff contenders this season, as they've certainly shown they have the skill to do so.
