    CAL-i S9 Week 2:2

Update: sublyme has done match predictions, click through below to read!

The second match of Week 2 will be played tonight in CAL-i. The map is de_cpl_mill, so expect some close matches and upset wins on this team-oriented map. zEx will be a team to look out for - with their revamped roster, they dominated Legends 19-5 earlier this week. Invite newcomers 3DO and U5 who did well for their first match should also prove worthy to keep an eye on.

Tonight highlights a match that may determine zEx's future as a top tier invite clan in their match versus Team 3D. Does their new roster have what it takes to make it to the top? Both teams are undefeated as of now.[break="click for more match info & predictions"]Start times and HLTV IPs will be updated as the information becomes available.

    3DO (1-0) vs LaR (1-2)

3DO vs LaR - Ah, two teams new to CAL-invite. LaR has had some time to get in the groove of CAL-i, while 3DO has just started with a nice overtime victory. 3DO is a power from the west while LaR could fit the same description; however, I'll go with the LaR wins prediction for tonight as I obviously don't know enough about westies.

    Prediction: LaR -over- 3DO :: 16-8

    Start Time: 11:30 PM

    nerve (1-2) vs Cc (1-1)

neRve has come a long way from their 2nd place WCG finish last year - a long way down. Clan Crisis was struggling for a little while, but they got their starters back on the team and look to be the solid team they once were. neRve, always having roster changeups, just isn't looking appetizing tonight.

Prediction: Cc -over- neRve :: 15-9

    Start Time: 11:30 PM

    ICE (1-2) vs WEW (1-2)

Both teams struggling a bit here at the beginning, but WEW isn't the WEW of old and I expect ICE will take this one without too much difficulty.

Prediction: ICE -over- WEW :: 17-7

    Start Time: 11:30 PM

    Eminence (2-1) vs TSG (2-1)

TSG is just a little too strong right now. A couple seasons back when Eminence was stacked with players like Jaden, they might have been the all-out favorite in this game. However TSG has a bit of advantage here, and they're called Sunmand and Volcano.

Prediction: TSG -over- Eminence :: 16-8

    Start Time: 9:30 PM

    BiO (0-3) vs MV (2-1)

BiO isn't the BiO of old; attribute that to their current roster versus when they had Spyder and you'll see my point. Glad to see them still hanging in though, as tonight MV will take their 3rd win.

Prediction: MV -over- BiO :: 18-6

    Start Time: 9:30 PM

    DZ (1-1) vs GB (1-2)

This is an interesting game, as DeadZone is a very powerful team and GB has what it takes - both are sitting on only one win right now though. I'd like to predict DZ, but I think GB is going to pull this one through.

Prediction: GB -over- DZ :: 14-10

    Start Time: 9:30 PM

    Pinnacle (1-2) vs HS (0-3)

Pinnacle has already pulled an "upset" of sorts by taking out a hot e7, while Hicks with Sticks isn't impressing anyone. Look for an easy game here.

Prediction: Pinnacle -over- HS :: 18-6

    Start Time: 9:30 PM

    e7 (2-1) vs 1hq (1-2)

I'm going to get flamed for this but I'm handing this game to 1HitterQuitter. e7 has just picked up Karma and their starter, voodoo, is inactive currently due to personal reasons. 1HQ has the skill and ability to take out e7 and I think that's what will happen tonight.

    Prediction: 1HQ -over- e7 :: 15-9

    Start Time: 9:30 PM

    HLTV: tv.gamedaemons.net:2501

    SYB (1-1) vs EG (2-1)

Evil Geniuses, ah. One of my favorite teams of old; it's good to see them back in CAL-invite. The Short Yellow Bus is going to slow down a bit tonight, but it won't be much of a stomping.

Prediction: EG -over- SYB :: 14-10

    Start Time: 11:30 PM

    HLTV: tv.gamedaemons.net:3001

    Scorebot: #calcast3

    TSO (1-2) vs Rival (3-0)

Rival is the team to beat right now. They've been having excellent lan performances aside from being knocked out quick at CPL, and on top of that they're currently undefeated. TSO is starting to mesh some of their teamwork back but it won't be enough to topple Rival tonight.

Prediction: Rival -over- TSO :: 15-9

    Start Time: 11:30 PM

    TEC (2-1) vs rdw (2-1)

rdw isn't a team to look away from even for a moment. With powerful destrukt leading them, they're already looking at the playoffs this season. TEC has been having some roster issues as of late, but I'm going to call this one close.

Prediction: rdw -over- TEC :: 13-11

    Start Time: 9:30 PM

    HLTV: tv.gamedaemons.net:3501

    Scorebot: #calcast4

    Agent (0-3) vs shockwave (2-1)

Agent certainly isn't performing to everyone's standards in CAL-i right now, but they are a new moveup so it's not surprising. shockwave started out the season right beating rdw in overtime and proving they have what it takes to be a playoff contender this season; Therefore, Agent will drop another one.

Prediction: shockwave -over- Agent :: 14-10

    Start Time: 9:30 PM

    xeno (1-2) vs LgD (1-2)

xeno has always been a secret favorite of mine; after all, back in CAL-m they came out of nowhere to win it, and they have been known to pull upsets in the past. Both teams have started off a bit rough but tonight will be the turning point for xeno.

Prediction: xeno -over- LgD :: 15-9

    Start Time: 9:30 PM

    MurK (0-2) vs TAU (1-2)

Good ole' icelandic teams facing texas teams. Finding a neutral server is going to be a bit difficult tonight, but either way MurK has the skill to knock off a faltering TAU team.

Prediction: MurK -over- TAU :: 14-10

    Start Time: 9:30 PM

    3D (3-0) vs zEx (3-0)

Under normal circumstances, this would have been a match of the night. However, due to zEx's roster overhaul it may be a cakewalk for 3D. One thing people don't recall, however, is that zEx was a powerhouse before they had shaguar, revenge and company - their current roster should be able to do some damage.

    Prediction: 3D -over- zEx :: 15-9

    Start Time: 9:30 PM (tentative)

    HLTV: tv.gamedaemons.net:4001

    Scorebot: #calcast5

    U5 (1-0) vs GameWyze (2-1)

GameWyze, formerly known as The Unreal, is looking tight this season. United 5 was just moved up and have had great stability for some time now. Still, I'm handing it to GameWyze.

    Prediction: GameWyze -over- U5 :: 15-9

    Start Time: 9:30 PM

    Scorebot: #gamewyze

I'm glad CAL decided to cover the match of the night!

I hope there's some sort of scorebot for the 3d/zex match in #gotfrag or something like last week.

old zEx > new zEx. I was very surprised by zEx's success against LgD last week, but honestly, I don't thinkthey stand a change against 3D. This should be a blowout, I'd say 18-6, zEx might win 1/4 of the rounds.

                      Yay, cal-i.

In other news, Mike Richter retired from the Rangers.

I'm only saying that to see who flames me/if my post gets deleted.

#8, 18-6 sounds a bout right (i guess), depending on how well 3D's game is on.
