    CAL-i Season 9 Week 2:1 Wrap up

Last night was the third match of the season for CAL-i and here are the results:[break="CAL-i Week 2:1 Results" type="viewnews"]3DO over TSO - (16-14) (4-8 3DO as CT)(8-4 3DO as T)(4-2 3DO in OT)

This was 3DO's first taste of invite and they proved to be very exciting to watch. After coming back on T, 3DO took this match into overtime and ended up the winner. The match was a good confidence booster for 3DO and hopefully they can build on their success and have a big impact in CAL-i this season.

    SYB over nerve - (18-6) (7-5 SYB as CT)(11-1 SYB as T)

After a very close CT side, SYB took over and dominated as T winning 11 rounds and taking the match by a huge margin.

    Rival vs WEW - Rescheduled

    tsg over mV - (18-6) (8-4 tsg as CT)(10-2 tsg as T)

The match most people waited for pitted two ex-zEx members, cBz and Sunman, against two others, Shaguar and Revenge. A fun match to watch, as former teammates took on each other, but TSG was too much for mV winning 10 out of 12 rounds on T. Immediately after the match Shaguar and Revenge quit mV. Where will we find this pair next?

    RDW over BiO - (15-9) (7-5 RDW as CT)(8-4 RDW as T)

After RDW's success at the CPL they have been on the up ever since. BiO has not been able to bring back any of their luster from last season going down to a miserable 0-3 this year. Let's hope they pull it together and win a few matches the rest of the season.

zEx over LgD - (19-5) (10-2 zEx as T)(9-3 zEx as CT)

In the most lopsided match of the night, the new generation of zEx demolished Legends on both sides of the map. Most people did not expect zEx to be on top of their game already, but this was a very convincing win. Their next test is one of their biggest this season, facing 3D in a match of between two undefeated teams.

    TAU over 1hq - (13-11) (7-5 TAU as CT)(6-6 TAU as T)

This match featured two middle of the pack CAL-i teams and as expected the score was very close. TAU barely pulled off their first win of the season as 1hq dropped to 1-2.

    Pinnacle over e7 - (14-10) (8-4 P as T)(6-6 P as CT)

One of the upsets of the night was Pinnacle beating the CPL’s Cinderella story, e7. Is this e7 coming back to reality or was this just a fluke and e7 will be ready to play and win on Thursday?

EG over ICE - (18-6) (9-3 EG as T)(9-3 EG as CT)

An easy match for EG as they took 9 rounds on each side. EG had no problems and their preparation paid off last night.

    Cc over LaR - (16-8) (10-2 Cc as CT)(6-6 Cc as T)

LaR did not put up much of a fight as Cc rolled to win 10 rounds on ct and the match. LaR will face 3DO on Thursday in what should be another close match.

    shock over TEC - (16-8) (8-4 shock as CT)(8-4 shock as T)

Another upset last night was TEC's loss to shock. Winning only one third of the rounds, in a match that most people expected them to win, is not a good sign for TEC.

Eminence over Agent - (13-11) (9-3 Eminence as T)(4-8 Eminence as CT)

This is as close as Agent has gotten to a win in CAL-i. Their record dropped to a disappointing 0-3 as they are finding out the differences between main and invite.

    Murk vs DeadZone - Rescheduled

    Gamewyze over hs - (14-10) (11-1 gw as CT)(3-9 gw as T)

One of the rare instances with both teams performing much better on CT than on T. GW is yet to face a premier CAL-i team this season so they need to pick up as many wins as they can before their schedule gets tougher.

    3D over GB - (13-11) (5-7 3D as T)(8-4 3D as CT)

This was a much closer match than anyone expected it to be with 3D just barely pulling out the win. Having to come back as ct is a challenge, but 3D knew what they had to do and they accomplished that goal.

    u5 over xeno - (15-9) (11-1 u5 as T)(4-8 u5 as CT)

The other CAL-i move up was also successful in their match tonight. United 5 took out one of last season's best teams winning 11 rounds on T, which is an accomplishment on any map against xeno.

Stay tuned on Thursday for the second set of CAL-i matches on de_clan1_mill.

I haven't kept up with all the ex-zEx action. But they appear to be all over the place. I think their plan is to get members into every cal-i clan to ensure victory no matter who wins.

3D screwed up a few rounds in their match CT side giving away a few points to GB but they came back hard and won like 4 in a row. Boms is definitely a good addition to that team. Think he had most frags.
