    Counter-Strike added to Ultimate Arena

The folks over at CSCentral have posted some interesting news for competitive Counter-Strike gamers. Ultimate Arena, the site that pairs you up against other skilled players in head to head battles for real cash online, has just added Counter-Strike to the mix. You will need PayPal or a credit card to add money to your account and put it all on the line for profit or bitter defeat.

If that doesn't do it for you CSCentral also mentions another interesting tidbit about Ultimate Arena teaming up with VALVe Software to make this all possible:
Doug Lombardi, Valve's Director of Marketing, said, "We know that a lot of Counter-Strike players will love the option of playing to win money at Ultimate Arena. It's an exciting new dimension to Counter-Strike game play."
Disk2 and I both drew the same conclusion. Money is good, but what about cheaters? Ultimate Arena is seemingly prepared and taking cheating very seriously using Cheating-Death on all servers as well as having staff to monitor matches being played for cash.

Head on over to Ultimate Arena if play for pay is your thing.

Sounds like it could be cool..but they would have to make sure the servers were cheat free..cause that could cause some huge problems...cause lets face it..."ITS ALL FUN AND GAMES UNTIL MONEY IS INVOLVED"

Cheaters will definately find their way there, what more incentive could you ask for?, humiliating people and taking their money. It's going to be hard for them to detect as I'm sure the real hackers will go for this one and they actually know what they're doing.

I think getting cought cheating (demo) on this Arena, they should take a nice 100$ off your account.

Or better still.. send me the card holders *details* :P

Getting caught cheating should equal the forefiture of all the money in their account, and there should be a certain "cheat deposit" you need to put down to play.

Wow whata great idea, unreasonable, but still a great idea, in order to play u must give up all personal info, adress, ss#, etc..(although they could fake it even still) and then if u cheat...well son i do believe your fucked!

lol I wouldn't trust my money with someone using Cheating-Death as their preferred anti-cheat.

First it's CS lessons from pros for money, now it's playing other CS players for money.

I wonder what direction this game is headed in...?

Playing CS 1v1 or 2v2 is not my thing.. Playing CS online for money is not my thing either.. Like everyone else already said, CS online cannot be trusted whatsoever because of cheats.. I'm suprised by this project, they will learn the hard way I guess..

Besides the cheat problem, I wonder how their rating system actually works? I mean, what if some progam0r entered pretending to be a noob...?

Hrm now CS is turning into a form of gambling. Wonder where that might lead...

IRS form when you win more than 600$? What about if you don't live in the US? And to enter, the identification method are quite strict, and hopefully safe...

OH MY GOD! How sad is this. You must be 1 very big fool if u play counter-strike for money. Many sad losers r going to sign up for this this and lose alot of money, how rediculous can u get, this is terrible.

CS is A GAME. But most people on here spend there lifes on this game. Terrible Terrible.........

The fraud risk seems dangerously high with this idea. I wonder what they are thinking?! Even if cheating is nixed with CD, there are bound to be CS players who are willing and able to use stolen identities. ID theft is huge and all it takes is a social security number... very bad...

Most cheats are undetected... so basically this thing is screwed from the beginning.
