interview: echo7

CS-Nation's Sublyme has interviewed Echo7's s1M0nz and SpYdeR. Echo7 really shocked those in the esports community by placing sixth at the event. Most people didn't believe they were sixth in the country, much less the world. An exciting time for e7, and CSN is here to cover it:

CS-Nation: It's said that e7 got a quite a bit of scrimming done at the cpl bootcamp. Did you have as much success in scrims as you did in the tournament, or did you just take the other teams by surprise?



s1M0nz: bootcamp was hard work, but it all paid off. =]



SpYdeR: Scrimming at the bootcamp helped us a lot, before bootcamp dust2 was our weakest map by far which was seen at killerlan when we were defeated by TAU and Hatclan. After discussing the map and trying out different strategies I would put dust2 as one of our best maps along with train.

I think it's awesome that a relatively unknown underdog such as Echo7 could do so well on such a grand scale after so much hard work. This makes it clear that seedings and hype mean nothing going into an event: it all comes down to how well you do.



P.S. - I'm a nitpicking gammar nerd: you wrote "at the event" without ever mentioning the CPL. I think it's a given that people know about the CPL but for those of us who still live in caves, a CPL reference would be good. :)

Just to be a bright spark, I say e7 placed well this CPL, then as always they will do relitively poorly in CAL-I and just because no one expected them to do well, that means they own so they have to do top 3 next CPL, and when they don't they're 'noobs'.
