I'd expect shield to have the least effect. FAMAS is affordable if you get kills or save everything during the pistol round.

They need to just trash the shield and start balancing the current weapons that are unfair (m4 being the most). All 3 Army of Llama servers that I admin for have currently banned the use of shield b/c of its bugs and for its straight up imbalance in games.



Worst thing is when a CT is defusing a bomb with it... he's basically a wall with arms that will defuse no matter what since his shield will stay armed and he will face you the whole time.

Realalisticly, you need both arms to defuse. Im sure theyll fix that.



I cant believe im one of the few who thinks the hl engine is killing cs. I think cs has become limited under the hl engine. On the other hand, thinking of cs on the hl2 engine is like a massive female orgy to me.

I think they're crazy enough to leave the shield in. We'll have to see what happens in competition play. Speaking of balance and competition... instead of making the M4 "fair" (I'm rolling my eyes at that statement.) how about making some other weapons useful?

someone way back up there made the comment that whoring the shield and the awp can be dealt with by running around them. the problem with that is they can scuttle behind their shield while you run, where as you're out in the open. i personally dont use the shield because i think it's a piece of shit and kills gameplay, but i can see it being whored.

However, it'll probably get nerfed soon enough, just wish they'd do something about the god forsaken whore mongering game crippling piece of shit known as the awp. i hate that weapon and no other item/gun needs complaining about while the awp is left as it is.

Play battlefield as a scout, that's a proper sniper :P

How is the M4 unbalanced? The terrorists have a little thing I like to call the AK-47. The AK-47 is cheaper and stronger than the M4. The only things that the M4 has over the AK-47 is less recoil (learn how to move your mouse vertically and recoil suddenly becomes far less of an issue) and the M4 has a slightly faster rate of fire, it seems.



That sounds pretty balanced to me.

Ahh yes, but compared with all the OTHER weapons, the M4 is unbalanced. But yes, if the M4 is unbalanced, the AK is too.
