CS:CZ "Reviews"

UK magazine PCZone has posted its CS: Condition Zero 'review' to the Internet. In the 'review', CS:CZ scores a low 79% score. Here's today's really horrible analogy, from one of the last paragraphs of the review:

Be warned. If you're buying this game for the 18 new single-player levels, think very, very hard. The campaign - just like the Blair Witch Project soundtrack (a film bereft of music), which was packed with songs 'inspired' by the movie - is a game 'inspired' by Counter-Strike. A barely passable shooter trying to pass as Counter-Strike, whose missions act as little more than a diversion from the sublime bot-filled Counter-Strike levels in which you can finally live the life of a counter-terrorist (or terrorist), and believe it.

READ THIS PART, TOO. The British gaming press has a habit of reviewing non-final versions of games. Although I doubt Counter-Strike: Condition Zero will simply morph into the best game ever, it is very much still in development. Maybe the final version will be horrible, but wait until the game is reviewed in American press before trying to hammer home the point.



In related news, UK's PC Gamer has also 'reviewed' the title and gave it an hilariously low 65%.

Yeah, dont believe this review. PC Zone UK doesn't review final versions of the games, and its been proven that. PC Gamer does. Of course, theres gonna be 100s of other mags out there to review it when its finally out.

That funky 65% is definitely valves fault

TIME TO RELEASE! NOONE CARES IF IT SUCKS (I think it wont, Ritual made some cool things), PATCH IT! IT'LL BE WORSE IN 2004+!!

or at least release a 'test mission' on steam to let us test, and tell them if its good or not.

Counter-Strike has been my #1 game for along time, And theres no need to stop buying now.



And its kind of dumb they review games that arn't even finished. How pathetic! :P

See, this is british game mags for you. Unlike most american gaming magazines that always look on the bright side of things, and are almost always positive abotu every up-and-coming game there is, our british magazines are alot more realistic about it, and just plain admit that the game is going to suck. It's been obvious ever since the second devolper change that CS:CZ will suck. Any game that takes this long to make will be perfect in every way with graphics so good that they make FFX-2's graphics look like NES graphics, with sound so good it puts FFVIII to shame, and with gameplay that is so amazingly good that it makes Legend Of Dragoon look like an Ultima game (yes, I'm a fan of RPG games. How could you tell? :p ). Or of course, any game that takes this long to make will be one of the biggest flops on gaming history.



CS:CZ is going to be bad. It's going to be lost beyond hope. Frankly, either they should release it now, make a small ammount of cash from it while some people still think it may be good, then pretend it never happened, or they should just scrap it, admit they fucked up, then pretend it never happened.

I won't e buy CZ, first because I can just play 1.6 and secondly, I'll save my money for HL2.
