The Gamespot staff are not idiots. They know what they're talking about. The just don't want to go all in-depth into all the technical details when they are just writing a brief summary of the game and a short justification for why CS was chosen as one of the best games of all time.



They're not going to write stuff like: "CS' damage system is unforgiving, except for the occasional recoil bug, that occurs because of a issue with latency and the old Half-Life engine which is the underlying coding Counter-Strike utilizes etc etc..."

Ryan Macdonald certainly is, and certainly does not. Even with the amount of leeway these kinds of things require, what he wrote was a blatant head-in-the-sand pile of fluff. Any 1.5 newcomer dumbass from the CS forums could've written this if given an editor and/or a spellchecker.

you cant even jump in TC games and u cant walk+shoot and actually hope to hit something
