Unfortunately the single player element of the game does not look too promising. There is certainly a lot of variety to be had. Missions have a distinctly global flavour, with settings in Iraq, Eastern Europe, Japan, and North and South America -18 missions and a tutorial in total. The downside of all of this globe-trekking is apparent in the game's lack of overall story - each scenario has its own self contained story that is quite separate from the rest of the game. You can read the rest of the preview here or find more CS:CZ info & media in our CS: Condition Zero information section.
Missions are heavily scripted, with each one having memorable set pieces. Unfortunately this does not fare well for replayability - although the enemy AI is an enhanced version of the Half-Life AI, so no two gun battles should play out the same. While the enemy AI demonstrates some nice capabilities, the friendly AI (when it is even present) seems only to be there because it would be a bit silly expecting a lone counter-terrorist to go around sorting out the world's problems. For all their contribution, it seems this may as well be the case.
