- 4) 3D - there is an aura of doubt around this team. There was a lot of doubt around 3D last Winter as well, before they took the event. Right now, however, they're facing two European contenders with amazing aim and brutal strategies (in particular with Team9). Although out-skilling zEx, one of the two teams is on quite the roll and it ain't 3D.
3) SK.swe - a team that, no doubt, has the players. But there's a huge difference between having something and using it effectively. While I wouldn't be shocked to see SK.swe take the event, they've already lost to zEx at the ESCW event (albeit under different circumstances).
2) zEx - throughout its career, zEx has been doubted. There was doubt they could handle CAL-i. There was doubt they could do well on LAN. Now, however, there is little doubt that zEx can handle itself. There's little doubt zEx will have a huge impact on this Summer's CS event.
1) Team9 - With a combination of Scandinavian brain and brawn, Team9 is a clear favorite for this event. Ranked #1 from experts around the world, they have not only the skill that all top level teams have, but excellent leadership and strategy from Vesslan.
- 4) Team9 - This is the team everyone is betting on, but if you recall any of my past predictions you would know that I like to take risks. So, I'm still having them finish a solid 4th, but I don't see them in the finals.
3) zEx - What can I say about zEx that hasn't been said? A strong and powerful team, but they've yet to take 1st at any "top events". Not to say they don't have the skill and ability, but it just hasn't happened yet. They have a solid chemistry that gets them where they need to go, but at the same time I look at their starting 5 and wonder aloud if they met up with zEx's starters 6 months to a year ago who would triumph? Indeed, zEx has quite a different starting lineup today but they still have the skill and ability to take 3rd.
2) SK.swe - Former CPL champions and a star-studded lineup, they have what it takes to win another world championship; but will they? The main difference between SK and 3D is that 3D relies on their experience, skill and strategies while SK is more known for simply overpowering the other team. If it comes down to these two in the finals, expect a 3D victory.
1) 3D - 3D is a team that when the going gets tough, the tough get going. When they had a subpar CAL-i season awhile back but made it in the playoffs nonetheless, they came through and beat the odds to win the title. 3D has always made it count most when on lan, and while there are doubters wondering if they can still pull it off, I'm counting on 3D to unleash some new tactics that will win them another championship.
