GF: USA is Sleeping Giant

No, I'm not talking about my girlfriend! GotFrag has a new article up detailing the centralization of skill in the US clan scene. While previously US clans were led by a few all-star players, more and more US teams are turning Euro-style and featuring rosters with all mind-blowing players. SK, of Sweden, and 3D, based in Texas, are both examples of professional-level teams with all-star rosters.



The article details how teams like 3D and SK aren't so unusual in America anymore, as more and more skilled players are grouping up. Here's the profile for team TEC, an old favorite of mine:

Ohh, a cliff hanger! The article is very well done and a must-read for those anticipating the CPL, which begins this Wednesday.

If you haven't heard of Team9 before, it's about time you should read up on them! well seeing as the USA has the most diverse genetic makeup of any other country in the world, its not suprising that USA can come up with the best athletes in the world. for any sort of sport.

omg i just wrote a long article in other thing...o well here is summery



i think the rankings are a bit messed, but i dont think they should do a world ranking at all. too many factors involved in the 2 main leagues and such, and the fact euro and american clans rarely compete <compared to a cal season # of matches>. plus diffrent rules can affect stuff, like no ghosting and 15 rounds.. which can throw teams off....

I just hate not seeing other countries or regions that don't have teams representing them, it doesn't give a very good overall perspective.

I think the fact that the USA is a big country with a spread out population is the biggest problem unlike say Sweden with it's more compact popualtion.



The entire world apart from Sweden is a sleeping giant.

sorry guys but this is only the truth.

All Americans prefer AOL to any broadband internet and eat at McDonalds for their fine cuisine.



We also don't have any good counter-strike teams at all which certainly explains an American team winning the CPL last winter and another American team running over a very prominant, if not most prominent European counter-strike team in the world at ESWC and finishing in second place.
