Here's the word from valve if you guys missed it.
There are problems with the way that current hardware implements FSAA. If you enable it, you will see a lot of artifacts on polygon boundaries due to the way that they sample texture subrects with FSAA enabled. We are working with the harware companies and the DirectX team to make sure that future hardware doesn't have this problem.

      1) Is this a problem that can be fixed with new drivers, or would we have to buy a whole new card to recitify it? If so, are there any cards on the horizon that would offer it?

Drivers aren't likely to fix the problem, with the exception of the ATI 9500-9800. There's hope there for being able to use FSAA properly. You are out of luck on NVidia unless either NVidia or us come up with some clever way of solving this problem.

      2) Is this a problem unique to hardware + Source?

It's a problem for any app that packs small textures into larger textures. The small textures will bleed into each other if you have multisample FSAA enabled. The best thing to do right now is either buy an ATI card in the hopes that it will be solved there, or wait until the next generation of cards come out.

Documentary: Presenting facts objectively without editorializing or inserting fictional matter, as in a book or film.

Based upon this definition, Micheal Moore's "Documentary" "Bowling for Columbine" is not technically a documentary. Rather, it is an entertaining movie based upon his view of the world instead of factual information. He makes a point in the movie to editorialize and borders on inserting fictional/false information into his movie. As stated previously, you can read more here:

Your 'facts a' are as much propaganda as anything else. All media is biased, there is no such thing as objective film.

Hell, you yourselves subject the film to all of your own personal connations and bias when watching it, (let alone the intentions of the maker) thus provoking the outrage or support we see throughout the comments page.

In short you chose your propaganda to believe and we will choose ours. You state based upon this(see above) definition, well As far as I am aware a documentary is a documentaion of events which comments upon them, if it was meant to be the NEWS im sure it would have said so. Im sure the facts are correct and the power of edit is powerful, but the intention of the maker is clear, not to brainwash people to his point of view, but to encourage debate. You chose the definition to try and aply to this situation but I see 3 other definitions that quite happily allow fro the Columbine picture. To throw a link in which you know damn well half the kids in here wont read and assume they will trust you is down right irresponsible and a more flagrant attempt at propaganda as any other you complain about.

There is no definable or inherent truth about the columbine situation. So many environmental and mental factors are involved it would be impossible to come to a single conclusion.

The facts as I briefly asess are as follows. The 'liberals' (read the majority of the film and arts community) of America see the validty in gun control, ( IN fact most sane people of the world do, hell Your own country doesnt want any other contries to have weapons yet is happy for its citizens to walk around with guns, go figure, `WMD' my arse, how do u define mass? I would say there was massive destructionon that fateful day) whilst the conservatives do not, rather insisting upon the guaranteed rights to bear arms. (Guaranteeed no less, in a time when it was a necessity to bear arms to protect yourselves from the people whos land you were conquering and stealing.)

Enter the 21st century, look at the levels of gun crime we are getting here today in the UK, We can foresquare blame this upon the globalisation of the world to the USA's poor and falling standards of moral obligation and sensibility. I want, I want, Im gonna take, fuck u im right. Disagree im gonna pop a cap in your ass.

What awonderful land of the free. I dont particularly care about hte issues, I just wanted to highlight your flawed arguements. Many would say that its great that Americans have such easy acess to guns, as evryday therse a few less assholes in the world. While I dont subscribe to this opinion one can be compelled to a lack of sympathy for the victims of gun crime in a country that emraces sucha violent 'tool' as aprt of its society and culture.

the movie being good/bad or right/wrong is just an opinion. It isn't a documentary due to its bias, and undoubtfully shows Moore's view on a current issue. The rest is yours to think about.

Ghengis, I've obtained your home address and currently on my way with my legally obtained Glock handgun to illegally kill you.

However I think you miss the crux of my argument. First and foremost, I would agree completely that there is a little leeway in the language in the 2nd Amendment, and that there should be a reasonable level of gun control in this country. However, Michael Moore used the format of "Documentary" to promote his view of gun control. I do not agree with this. I've watched many documentaries on the History and Discovery Channels. They present all relevant facts surrounding an event or person or thing. Michael does not present all fact surrounding the argument of gun control. He takes a position of strict gun control and seeks his facts accordingly, yes. But he basically attacks those who don't like gun control. He portrays them in a bad light without presenting their side of the story. Therefore, by denying (or outright insulting and discarding) the side that doesn't want gun control, his movie cannot be called a documentary. I'm not really sure how to classify his movie.

By labeling his movie a "Documentary" he misleads you into thinking that his movie will show all sides of the issue. Instead you are shown 120 minutes of "We need gun control because I (Michael Moore) have portrayed the nation as needing it." If you read this link: http://www.hardylaw.net/Truth_About_Bowling.html you will see that some of his facts are stretch or just plain lies to begin with. While propaganda might be a strong word for his movie, it does boarder on the need to use the word.

He claimed a Lockheed Martin plant that makes weather satellites was making weapons for Pete's sake. I'd call that a lie, but you can call it my biased propagandist view... I'm pro gun-control by the way, I just think the way Moore conducted himself was disgusting.

Damn, I swore I wouldn't touch the Moore thing.
