    Euro-Mole

You may remember about two months ago it was announced that Counter-Mole (brought to you by Counter-Hack) would be showcasing its event live via HLTV. Now they're on to season two, which will take place in Europe, featuring star players from clans in that area.

Counter-Mole is an event where the audience tries to pick out a cheater from a server filled with 10 players of varying skill. It's clearly aiming to follow in the footsteps of that oh-so-famous reality hit, "The Mole," but with Counter-Strike.

You can visit Counter-Hack.net for more information on the Euro-Mole, and go here for information on winning the big prize that goes along with this event.

I find it pretty sad people are having fun in an event that involves cheats.. Why? because I hate the whole cheating rage that destroyed so much fun in CS, and completly ruined my convidence in *all* online games.. I can't help it to think if people are cheating in any online game now.. Before CS I never had this "problem".. Therefor I hate everything that involves cheats, this *stupid* event included!!

Then you my friend do not understand the event at all. The point of this is for people to watch HLTV and pick out the hacker, thus seeing how good their skills are for picking hackers, and refining them. More hackers will be caught in regular play, and less "false positives" if you will. In theory at least.

My point is that it's sad people have to have cheat detecting skills in any game, and improve them with these sort of events.. I really don't see the fun in that..

Cheats are a deadly virus to online gaming that needs to be eliminated.. I still hope someday there will be a way to garantee a 100% cheatfree game, that will really be the day..

i don't really see your problem with this event at all, merely your problem with cheating in general.

This is just like the TV Program 'The Mole' where you win by identifying the cheat.

There is nothing wrong with the event at all, it isn't there to help peoples skills in detecting cheats, its just a bit of fun.

              Guys, calm down.

First off, if yer all bummed because we are holding it in europe then don't be.

After Euro-Mole we will be holding another North-American one.

Look at www.counter-hack.net for news when we get the PR done.

We will try to get CSN to post news about it when we post the PR, so no one misses out.

              Thanks for the support guys

I think its fun... when the person isn't obvious. Hopefully this european one won't have a hacker thats all that obvious..

The best plan would to just not use your hacks if you got picked to be the mole..

Also, I wonder if the organizers are even going to bother disabling VAC. I mean.. what's the point? :o

You know what really would be fun? If they didn't turn of VAC, and the mole got banned for several years on his last working CD-key after a sudden VAC update during the event.. I would laugh my ass off..

That would be funny, but a much more realistic situation would be some innocent player gets banned for using HLSW during a VAC update, and the mole with the cheats goes right on cheating.

Someone said that HLSW is being detected... But its not for me I have continued to use it and have had no problems

HLSW wont ever be detected because it does not intereact with the HL engine.

Perhaps you mean HLAmp, which at one point was detected as a cheat.
