    Steam Patches

Update: A Half-Life 2 movie has been released. It's a fairly short clip from the start of the E3 video. You can download it by opening to the games menu and looking under the "MEDIA" section.

Another day, another update. Erik Johnson has posted on the Steam Forums about today's release. He did note that Half-Life 2 media will be released today. Now go tell all your friends so you can have a party for the HL2 premiere.

Note that this will be the same HL2 footage from E3, only at a much higher quality. You can grab Steam right here, free of charge.

*Schwing* For the HL2 Media... I just hope it's something different than the 580+ Meg file I grabbed from Fileplanet.

I heard it's the same as the E3 video, just in a much larger resolution.

/me gets the new update within 3 seconds. w00t.

There will be a total of 800mb of HL2 footage released. Not all tonight tho.

They will be 1024x768 bink smacker files and you will be able to convert and play them elsewhere.

          The downloads will be resumable.

csnation.net says its the vid from e3, but higher quality. But the Steam board post just says the h2 media, not saying whether it was or wasn't.

            Some convincing from someone?

oh well, less than a day to find out

the post above mine clears 98% of my questions up. Tank you :]

Initially it will be the footage from e3, but newer footage will be shown later.

Or it could be a mixture of new foorage and old, as the footage from e3 was part of a presentation.

... only clearer (so you aren't squinting at a dark screen), and without trashy commentary.

To get these files, grab steam and wait. "Today" doesn't mean right now.

They're not released yet, are they? I'll imagine something will be posted when they are available.
