The Cyberathlete Professional League has sent out a list of prospective television coverage for its upcoming Pentium 4 Processor Summer 2003 Championship event. Well, uh, here's the list!

It's always nice to see the CPL get some mainstream coverage, since the efforts of the CPL and CAL form a very major part of the Counter-Strike community. I know that I probably wouldn't be a big fan of CS without CAL.

I saw that and thought the same thing. Peter Jennings is big in the news business, and ABC is a big network.

I think they mean the fact that the event is happening will be covered on news programs like that, not actual matches themselves. Obviously they're not likely to be showing bloody headshots over public television for everyone's 5-year-old children to watch over dinner.



My guess for ABC World News Tonight would be just some coverage of the existance of the CPL, perhaps a brief interview (read: sound bites) with Angel and a random gamer or two, some pan shots of lots of computers, one or two 5 second clips of someone running around shooting with a gun, jumps to clips of live music and such, then cut it off with perhaps 2-3 minutes of actual coverage. :) Who knows, though.

I agree 100% Probably about the same coverage CS got when the beltway sniper was big news.

I can just anticipate on GMA;



And up next we look at a game called "Counter-Strike". Kind of like doom, it runs on a computer and is really violent. Fucking things turn kids bad even though the Cpl's age group is much older.
