i dont use skinpacks, i think its better to get your skins 1 by one and test em out, but if you just want something quick and neat with good skins this may be your thing

Or you could download it for all the other stuff, too.

true, i dont want to start another freakin debate but you can get some neat stuff from the deagoat gunshop, for instance a german styled leupold scope with a bright red cross in the middle

Ok before I download. Is it any different (I mean VERY different) from the previous versions? Won't download it then.

The best thing about this pack is you can uninstall it ^_^

No it's not that different. If you have 2.4, though, you can just dl the update (5mb), which will update zhlt and one or two models/skins with their matching sounds.

Overall impression of the pack? Worth the download on a 56k? Well... in a while, anyway. Stupid brother made javascript on my computer fubar. (Yes... attempting to run internet explorer 3.0 under Windows XP is very dumb, grrrrr.) So, a bit of reformatting to do before I can use fileplanet again.

Anyway, is this a pack that's all or nothing (ie, you can't just pick which models to install, and it just installs them all for you), or can you pick the individual components to install?

Also... what do you guys think of the little things like the blood and bullet hit decals and such? I'm still looking for a somewhat better, but not more exessive or minimal, replacement for the blood, and hit decals sounds like maybe it'd be nice as well. What do any current users of the pack think of it?

i put this pack on my "CS for n00bs" CD. k so i havent acctully made onr yet, but it basiclly includes all the patches to get CS up and running, custom maps and skins, and this skinpack. y this pack? coz it includes tons of useful applications. i wish they would just put all of these in a seperate thing though, coz some of these skins suc :S

yeh the leupold crosshairs (from clan of dead goat gunshop) are awsome, i really like the post and duplex and target dot ones.

narby, that is odd that they dont include worldcraft in the main pack, although it is in their "tools pack". also i thought worldcraft is outdated isnt called like hammer editor or something???

Same thing. My point was it's the most used level design tool for halflife and much simpler to use than Quark.

                      Just struck me as odd.

When you install it, it comes up with your default hl/cs directory to install into. Now, you CAN install into that folder, or you can install the pack into a different folder (i.e. D:\Mercenary)

The packs' greatest asset are the various programs that are included in the download. They are probably the main reason people download the pack. The replacement files (i.e. skins/models, sounds, bullet holes) that are in the pack are very well made, and also add to the packs overall value.

Basically, it's well worth the download.

It is rather strange that it wasn't included. I could see if they wanted to keep the size of the download lower, then it would be sensible to exclude it. But seeing as how the download is 50+ mb, it wouldn't be that big of a deal to include a couple extra mb worth (and such a usefull tool, as well.
