Wait. Does this mean I have to qualify to participate in the Dec. CPL. Or can I just sign up and compete?

You can just sign up and compete, but the qualifiers get there for free, get into the tournament area for free, and get free hotel rooms. So if you just sign up, you have to pay to get there, pay to get to the tournament area, and pay for your airfare.

I think it sucks for Europe and Scandinavia that there are only 2 spots for each of them when they have obviously proven to possess some very talented clans.

That would be awesome to be standing behind one of the top CS clans and watching them play. You would probably learn a lot and also improve your game a lot. I know I always play better after I watch a demo of top CS clans, especially the final rounds of the CPL.

this is worse than the militia2 news thing..

can you maybe have a CPL roundup at the end of the week instead of posting every little update they post on their site?

Are the CPL absolutely ignorant to the world outside the US?

                              a) Scandinavia is a PART of Europe, if they're gonna start splitting it like this why not have 3 places for the USA and 3 places for Canada instead of 6 for North America?

                              b) How come North America gets 6 places, and the vast majority of Europe only gets 2 (apart from Scandinavia who can theoretically obtain 4 places) - European clans have proven themselves on a par if not better over the recent years with the American clans.

"Today, the CPL is the global leader in competitive computer gaming, holding massive events in the United States, Germany, United Kingdom, Holland, Norway, Singapore, Australia and Brazil. The CPL events offer: computer game tournaments with cash prizes of up to $150,000, music concerts, computer case competitions, product exhibitions, spectator arenas, workshops, and large BYOC areas."

They do feck all apart from the main CPL in the USA - CPL Europe gets screwed over everytime, and I've never heard of a CPL event in the UK. And most of the 'features at CPL events' only happen at the CPL in the US. A BYOC area isnt even unique - theres tons of lan parties that are as good as or better then the CPL.
