:O wow that was just simply amazing seeing him play, its just astonishing how he can play so good with only his head! If I never read this great article and had the chance to play bobby, I wouldn't even know he was disabled. By the looks of it he'd probably own me. ;(

Anyway, you should really go check that movie out, it just makes your eyes pop out of their sockets in complete "wowness".

^@^ now im gonna have to go see him play in a game...hehe imma play on his team so I don't get fragged. ;(

Bobby is one fearless guy! :)

On one last possitive note, im sure it wont take more than 10 years to cure these kinds of paralyzing illnesses (even know I have'nt a clue about it) Atleast, I hope so for bobby!

p.s: scientists predicted cancer will be near-cured in 10yrs..20yrs too late for some of my relitives though..

Yes, I agree that somewhat sensitive topics tend to get distilled into well-meaning platitudes in public forums that lose something in the translation (which is obviously why they tend not to allow comments here whenever a community-related death is reported on CS-Nation).
They don't lose meaning at all. They never had any to begin with.

They tend to not allow comments on them because they have some modicum of common sense. Certain newsies post it because they're too stupid to follow through and not post them in the first place.
You get that ... end of story. I don't know Bobby -- never spoken to him, never played with him -- but I'm sure he wouldn't mind well-wishes and admiration, whatever the perspective. If it gets the message across and maybe educates and inspires a few folks, who cares.
If he's acceptant of "admiration" from run-of-the-mill nitwits based solely on his condition, that's his thing.
All I know is he probably owns most of us in CS, and that's plenty enough to make me smile.
                Yawn.

Well... it may seem trivial and "expected" to you, and I will certainly not claim it change my way of life, nor did I sit crying in a corner for 15 minutes or anything, but certainly this guy deserves respect considering the difficulties he experience every single day with his disability.
This is my point. Respect generally isn't shown with 1-line "What a hero! OMG, i'm so touched that i'll forget about it in a week! BEST ARTICLE EVAR" posts.
To you, and me for that sake, CS is just some game, but to this guy it's probably an escape from his condition, to be able to move around, virtual world or not, still must be liberating for the guy... So claiming that ppl are fake for paying him a tribute, is not only arrogant, but also ignorant...
I've had a joystick in my hands since i was 3. I can fully respect his desire to keep gaming. I never said that people are fake for paying him "tribute". I'm saying that a good amount of people paying him "tribute" are fake.
frankly, I find your cynical remark useless, as you have no idea what ppl get out of this article, nor can you claim that anyone other than you find their comments destroying the point of praise...
When everyone else actually figures out what they get from this article, maybe they can let me in on it. Vilify me then.
Personally, I find any form of activity, physical or not, better than rotting away, feeling sorry for one self, and that is what I think this article is about, that fact that he has found a joy in life, despite the fact that he has had every excuse to just roll over and rot away...
And it's quite impressive. To go through all that just to have people pat him on the head like a special olympics participant.
He also might enjoy the fact that in CS he meets people who see him as an equal, instead of feeling sorry for him... since pity is not exactly what gets him up in the morning...
Exactly, sherlock. He also might enjoy people who haven't and will most likely never know him reading ONE article and not suddenly spewing "Oh, he's so great! Is he good? I bet he's good. He's SO GOOD, he's probably better at CS than anyone here!".

When I was was in grade 5 cynicism was cool too, mouth. But don't worry, once you grow up you'll know better. Just like everyone's knee-jerk reaction was to congratulate Bobby (and what the hell is wrong with that?), your knee-jerk reaction was to jump in and try to impress everyone with how "controversial" you are.

Thanks Mr. Bond and CS Nation for helping me get my story out.

I just wanted to thank everyone who has commented on this topic, positive or not. It's always nice to read or hear someone congratulate a person for doing something that was very difficult to do, disabled or not.

Mouth I'm not going to copy any of the stupid shit you said in your post and try and make any kind of point of how amazingly ignorant you are.

The simple fact that you wasted 15 min of your life typing that ingnorant post just to get a rise out of us is beyond retarded.

I almost feel sorry for you......You are truely a pathetic person.

Your inability to discern who actually knows Bobby and who is simply "jumping on a bandwagon" (which is a silly argument, or the first comment couldn't have existed) simply shows how pathetic of an argument you have.

Rather than address the subject or the article, you choose to attack the people who are responding to it. That is your prerogative, but whose opinion is being formed by whose now?

Sup Bobby. First off, it is a privilege to count Bob as one of my good friends. He is a classy guy. The first time I watched Bobby play PC games, and counter-strike in particular, I was completely impressed and awed. Now that I see him all the time and play either at his house lanning or online, I don't really think about how amazing it is that Bobby is able to do these things....It's just [Xng]Bobby killing me with his awp or deagle and then typing wudup:)...lol....congrats on the Article Bob...thanks for sharing with many, what only a few of us knew.

                              Also,

It's great to see all the positive comments and I hope that when you read the article that you keep in mind that Bobby did not post this for personal gain or to receive "great job" comments or "you are amazing".....those comments are great and I'm sure very much appreciated...however, for Bob I think the main reason that he chose to share this part of his life with you was to inspire and help others that are in a similar state, gain knowledge about what can be accomplished. I for one think it takes guts to have someone write about your personal life and then post if for thousands, or even millions to read. Bobby you kick ass man:)

Anyway, Come by the Xng server (www.xngclan.com). We have a great bunch of guys that play, and [Xng]Justin and [Xng]Bobby do a great job of running it.

                              See you all there.

                              Congrats again Bobby, and thanks.

You're a bigger man than I for not telling the critics to go jump, Bobby. Respect.

I watched the video of you playing ... I concur with others in this thread that you are the leetest of the leet. What you do with your head alone, I often find myself needing three hands for, and I hate you for it.
